Home Game?

Cam's New Arm

Recommended Posts

I moved to Cali just prior to Christmas of last year. This fall will be my first trip back and why the fug shouldn't I plan it around a home game to attend?

Looking at the schedule and excluding holiday weeks ($$$).. the Packers game is the only one that jumps out.

Anyone have any other solid recommendation? I wouldn't mind a rival game but I'm not basing my schedule around the dirty birds or the taints.

What say you?

We'll need all the help we can get, in the stadium, when the Packers come to town.  Could be one of the biggest gatherings of cheese heads, with deep southern accents, that you'll ever witness.  Will also need help at the Colts game, and especially the Redskins game.  Any of those will definitely help the home team, plus should be really fun games to watch.

We'll need major help at Eagles game as well. Lots of games this year that BofA will owned by the opposition.

It's tough in the area we're located.  Not only are we a relatively young team, who haven't been able to dismantle the local bandwagons, Charlotte is apparently a magnet for transplants.  It's an uphill battle.

Your ass would be as red as a baby opossum if that many people actually kissed it.

Unfortunate truth...

yeah.. this city is lame. I'm tired of having to deal with obnoxious opposing fans. the Steelers game and Seahawks game last year were the worst.. those Seahawk bandwagon jumping hipsters were so annoying

That's the most annoying to me as well.  I went to several sports apparel stores, while at the beach, and harassed all of the people buying Seahawks paraphernalia.  The most common excuse?  "I support Russel Wilson, because he went to State."

fug off...

Yep. I've said it numerous times but CLT is one of the worst. I have been to hundreds of venues over the last 20 years including NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB and college. BofA and TWC get owned like no other.

    • The word I feel most comfortable using as a descriptor is "inconsistent". Haven't really seen anyone disagree with that. Consistency being one of the things I value most in a player, that makes me lean toward moving on. But he does still have both time and opportunity to prove otherwise. Mind you, having a streaky quarterback isn't exactly a new thing in Charlotte (you could argue it's been the norm). Delhomme was notorious for starting slow but finishing strong. He could sadly also find hos way into ruts that were difficult to crawl out of. Newton, on the other hand, was often known to start hot but fade late (the vast majority of the 2015 season followed that pattern) though it could be argued that was a team pattern as much as it was Cam's.  There are definitely some fans for whom this is always going to be a bridge too far. (or too short) Realistically, it's not impossible that he could still have a good career even with those issues. It's a damn sight more difficult, though. And arguably, less likely.
    • Oh, I did, and they weren't based in emotions either. Granted, characterizing them that way gives you an easy out to avoid responding to them. Similar tactic to dismissing the other guy's points with "nah, you didn't really watch the games" which saves you having to debate what he said. Strikes me as a kinda lazy way to go, but hey both elements are still back there if you feel up to trying later.
    • I see the issue, I am not counting his rookie season where he didn't actually play minus a few snaps of garbage time. So by your math that would be his 4th year.
