Ingolstadt and Darmstadt both won promotion from 2. Bundesliga last season while Freiburg and Paderborn were relegated.  Hamburger retained their top division status by defeating Karlsruher in a two-legged playoff, scoring the equalizer in extra time of the second leg before adding the deciding goal in the 115th minute.

Is Douglas Costa a regular starter?

I hope so and I think he will get a lot of starts but with all the midfielders on the roster I am not sure he will be the choice in the biggest matches.  With Pep though who honestly knows

Similar. But at least Barca and Madrid go back and forth. Top to bottom I enjoy Bundesliga more.

I think of I were another team I would rather be up against Bayern than both Barca and Real.  I think Atletico is the only other team to beat Barca in over a decade.

can only hope BVB comes back strong and Leverkusen and Wolfsburg and Schalke pose more of a challenge to Bayern.

Those teams, along with Gladbach were more competitive last year than the previous two.  Bayern's performance against the other top teams in Bundesliga was unimpressive.  The difference was in performance against the rest of the league.

Good news for fans of German football in America: FOX Sports has you covered. After several years of mediocre coverage on hard-to-get GolTV, the broadcast rights for the Bundesliga got snapped up by FOX for the next few seasons. The network unveiled their coverage plan on Thursday, and it pretty much kicks ass.

FOX Sports 1 will carry 58 live matches this season, plus 60 more on FOX Sports 2. Viewers who prefer to watch their games with Spanish commentary will get to choose from a whopping 105 games on FOX Deportes. FOX Soccer Plus will also have a scattering of other matches, both live and tape-delayed. The whole Bundesliga schedule will also be available online through the FOX Soccer 2 Go streaming platform.

The package is significantly better than what was rumored earlier in the week, which included few to no matches on FOX Sports 1, with all the German matches on FOX Sports 2 -- a channel which generally requires a much higher programming tier to access -- and FOX Soccer Plus, a channel few providers even carry.

The Bundesliga kicks off when Bayern Munich host Hamburg SV on Aug. 14 at 2:30 p.m. ET, and it's going to be shown on FOX Sports 2.

    • But again as I stated in the other thread, other than JJ Jansen, the only constant since Tepper bought the team has been Tepper himself. We have an ownership problem. Almost every single one of this team's issues can be traced back to David Tepper.
    • My deceased father was an All-ACC End and he raised me teaching me football--I never realized how he changed my understanding of the game--however, one thing he said that I will never forget:  The measure of a good NFL QB is this:  "If your team is down by 6 or fewer points in the fourth quarter but has the ball with under two minutes and with 2 timeouts, are you favored to win?  Can he put the team on his back and drive the field for a TD more than 50% of the time?"  If we are down 14-20 and have the ball on our own 20 with 2 timeouts--does Bryce win the game more than 50% of the time?  (It rarely happens).  If not, there is no reason to keep him around.  If he gets hot and we win a few games, he will want major $$$.  While I am not blaming him, I do not see that Alpha at QB.  Sorry.  He has improved, but do we have that Alpha dawg in the huddle when the game is on the line?  That 4th down pass in the end zone tells us what he is--unfortunately.
    • Lol Curry was an elite shooter the moment he stepped into the big leagues, dude wasn't out there shooting 15% from three.   Accuracy is 100% coachable, its the physical talent that cant be coached lol.   Josh Allen completed 52% of his passes for 10 tds and 12 ints as a rookie....   Improving from that to what he is now is NOT NATURAL talent it is work....
