Who is Ready?

I'm excited to see if Lamb can rebound here.  He's no all-star or big time playmaker but when he heats up, has a very smooth yet aggressive style.

Batum is being given the chance to prove he can live up to the hype that surrounded him going into the league.  I think many are actually downplaying the signing because it seems like a 1-yr rental but I'm excited to see what he does.

I'm iffy on Lin for some reason but pumped to see him over Roberts running the second team.

I like the improvements we've made to our roster. The new talent is exciting and hopefully we've solved some of the problems we had with last year's roster. We should have better 3 pt shooting, and in theory, more scoring power while maintaining our defensive capabilities. So I'm optimistic that we will have a winning record and another play off appearance. However, I'm not sure our stay will last very long. I think we are a typical 7th or 8th seed, first round and done, type of team.

I don't know why you guys are excited. There's absolutely no reason to be excited about this team. When you're actively rooting for your team to get the 8th seed just so they can be blown out by an actually good team that's a problem. I want a team who we can actually root for and be actual contenders. Like it or not we're the Browns of the NBA. A complete joke from top to bottom.

Wouldn't we be more like the Bengals since we make the play offs and never win?

But that's the predicament we find ourselves in because our rebuild happened at the "wrong time" and we've be darn unlucky. I've said it before but OKC got Durant (2007, #2) Westbrook (2008, #4), and Harden (2009, #3) at the top of the draft with like-for-like draft positioning with us. And that's without considering they got Ibaka 24th overall in 2008.

Who did our top four draft picks land us? MKG and Zeller. That's the difference. Our situation was that the draft didn't provide us with a star, or multiple stars. Thus, the front office had two choices:

1. Continue to rebuild through the draft in the hopes we get lucky and land a star.

2. Bring in a difference making free agent and hope we make the jump to the play offs. While also hoping our existing draft picks improve enough to help us compete.

They chose path number two, and to be honest, I can't blame them for that. We might never be title contenders, but with the draft already being so cruel, I think they made the right choice to try and create more of a winning culture here.

You want a team you can root for that's a contender huh? Well a place to start would be not sitting around trashing your own team in August.

Yeah I have really high hopes this team could shock everyone and win 50 games.  People don't realize how good Bautm is.  Every team in the NBA has been trying to get their hands on him for the past few years now.  He can shoot and help create at the two spot.  MKG will continue to develop and hopefully Kemba has a bounceback season.  There is definitely reason to be excited, we're due some good luck this year.
