How To Dominate An Entire First Half, Time of Possession, Make Tom Brady Look Like poo, Get Two Takeaways, Awesome Avg Starting Field Possession, And Walk Away Losers...

Who's panicking?  We're expressing our opinions and critique as fans.  If you can't acknowledge our offensive deficiencies, there's nothing to really talk about.

I'll ask you the same question I asked Proudiddy.

Outside of Corey Brown, who on the offense looked that bad?

Folkerts did decent other than the drive where he got injured, and he's a backup anyway.

Actually, the reactionary nature of the thread stems from you going nuts over one drive by the Patriots at the end of the half.

And I haven't answered that because I didn't say it.  That's a spin/scramble you've been trying to use to get away from how silly this thread looks now after how the starter's time ended.

When the offense sputtered tonight, it was mostly due to Corey Brown looking bad.  Can you actually name someone other than Brown that had a really bad night?  You can try to argue Folkerts but other than the series where he got injured he was decent; not Kalil good mind you, but not bad either.

Bottom Line: You overreacted, and the offense came back and made you look bad.  You can keep trying to spin it if you want to but frankly the smarter move would be just to accept it and move on.

Scot, for someone who poses as rarely moved and posits himself as a football aficionado and elderstatesman of the huddle, you sure do like arguing in a childish manner because someone doesn't share you're exact same sentiments.

I don't have time for this poo.  I'm a grown man, I have no reason to lie, spin,or fabricate anything.  Anyone that has participated in this thread from page 1 saw you cited "injured defensive lineman" as a reason for our lackluster first half.  LOL, why would I make that up?  If you edited it out by now, oh well...  but you said it, and yet referred to me as "stupid," in your typical passive-aggressive, from-up-on-high manner, in talking around me.

It's whatever man.  My point is valid.  The offense is lackluster and they absolutely blew it in multiple possessions, leaving 21+ points on the field.  Our wide receiver unit is the weakest in the league and needs to be addressed, as that unit has that "one guy" who had that horrible performance tonight and singlehandedly killed multiple drives over the last two weeks.  It's a problem because our GM has not done more for the position and our coach doesn't challenge guys he likes.  That is the problem, and that is the complaint and concern at the core of this thread.

Also, what was the final score of that game?  Do you think those points our offense inexcusably failed to manufacture mattered?  And yet, our offense "made me look stupid," according to you lol.

Now, spin that anyway you want.

Well, it was just a preseason game.  That means no QB runs, no read option, no real goal line plays except dives... etc.

We are going to be okay.... hopefully

Yes.  Lucky, plus Seattle and New England had pooty WRs last season too.  New England's 2nd best receiver was the guy who couldnt even cut it against our scrubs.

Peyton has always had a bunch of weapons, Brees too, and Rodgers, yet they have only won 3 collectively over 25+ seasons between them

But, that's because they did the opposite extreme of what we have done...  All they did was build up their offenses and defense has remained their problem.  That's why I didn't use them as examples...  The teams I mentioned, year in and year out, address both sides of the ball and are typically formidable, if not GREAT in all three facets of the game.

It's preseason, guys. I'm bummed about the offense too, but relax. We're purposefully cuffing ourselves. Like every team. You think the Pats offense will be that pedestrian in the regular season against anybody? Not a chance. Defense played VERY well though, especially considering who we had out. Bodes well.

Offense will pick up. Funchess will return and we'll have a threat. Brown will figure his crap out. He's in his own head, and I think it's the competition at WR that is getting to him. Last year, he and Bersin made the roster by default. Not that they're bad receivers (they're not). They just benefitted from a thin roster last year. All they had to do was go out and play with no fear for their job at that time. Brown knows that he's got Boykin nipping at a chance to make the 53. They're similar players who would play a similar role to one another. I want to believe Brown wants to make plays so badly that he's just overthinking and not reacting. How else do you explain him letting a ball hit him DIRECTLY between the numbers, AFTER letting a perfectly thrown ball go through his hands for what would have been a TD?

Yeah tee, but that's a huge part of my frustration - our habit of putting the entire weight of the ability to score on Cam.  More weapons helps protect him as well.

I feel like this team is one legitimate player away from being a top team and if we dont make a move to add that player, then it is a poor, neglectful decision by management.

i don't care if the thought of missing out on future edmund kugbilas and tyler gaffneys frightens you, give me a sure thing right now.

    • Derrick Brown was one player I never called or even suggested was a bust . Dude was young and hadn't even hit his stride. It takes time to learn the position. The thing I appreciated about him is that he kept improving season after season. He got paid and keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny.
    • How many teams coddle their QB the way Bryce has been coddled? I have never seen any other team in the NFL EVER baby a QB the way that Bryce has been.  Bryce was named day 1 starter his first year. It was obvious he didnt deserve it. He wasnt ready as evidenced by the worst rookie year in NFL history.  So let's move to year 2. He's named starter again with no competition in TC and is benched 2 games later. We have the ghost of a backup in Dalton who is so bad he can only beat Vegas and let's remember, the only reason he lost his starting job was a car accident, not because Bryce actually beat him out in practice.  And year 3. We sign Dalton again, who already proved he couldn't be depended on to put an even remotely passable performance on the field, and bring back Jack Plummer, who was even worse than last year. It was obvious he was nothing more than a pretend body in an attempt to create an illusion of some type of attempt to find a backup.  Then we start again with garbage play again and Bryce gets benched with a phantom injury, and the ghost of the ghost of Dalton breaks his thumb on the first drive and craps the field all over again. If we had actually made an attempt to find a legitimate QB2, it's possible Bryce doesn't step on the field again. Bryce is not agood QB and if we had any other mediocre QB, our record would be the same or better.  Bryce is not entrenched. He's been placed, protected and sheltered from ever having to face a  real QB competition in TC. Richardson and Levis both were ass and both were benched and eventually replaced.  Do I expect Baker to face competition in camp? Sure. I expect Tampa to find the best QB2 they can at price that fits their cap and resources and system and get him up to speed. If he's better than Baker, and if he's better by a significant margin, that's best for the team. The ultimate goal is a Super Bowl. Bellichek was constantly getting QB2s with the GOAT as his starter. He knew the value and that was realized when Cassell led them to an 11-5 record as a backup.  You and I may think differently than the people that matter but I will say it again. If you're afraid to bring in a capable backup, especially after the debacle of last year. The starting role wasn't earned, it was given, and that's loser mentality.
    • I would have done the same thing.  LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss.  Plus the enormous contract and every advantage a college team can offer in terms of recruiting and facilities and tradition etc
