Not much in potential receiver cuts

Mr. Scot

Did some googling re: "Wide Receiver on the bubble" just for fun.

Here are some names that came up.  I don't claim to know much, if anything, about any of these players.  Just throwing out names.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived veteran receiver Tandon Doss and 11 others to reduce their roster to 75 players.

The Jaguars also placed rookie defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. (knee) and offensive tackle Josh Wells (thumb) on injured reserve Saturday, and waived injured receiver Greg Jenkins. If Jenkins clears waivers, he will revert to Jacksonville's IR list.

  • From the Bengals:  Greg Little and Denarius Moore reportedly on the bubble
Wide receiver Greg Little: He doesn't play special teams so he almost needs to be in the regular rotation at wide receiver and while he leads the team in receiving yards in the preseason (79) he hasn't done enough to this point to warrant a spot. Veteran Denarius Moore is even further down the depth chart and has virtually no chance.

More later...

My hope at this point is someone on this roster steps up. That more playing time helps the switch come on...

Not counting on it but I am hoping.

Kinda  hard to step up when this coaching staff won't put anyone else in with the 1s.

Its the same ol same ol. And that's the reason this staff stinks. Loyalty to veterans than underperform is a characteristic of mediocre franchises.

To be honest, if you were looking for a savior to come from other team's cuts, you were likely gonna be disapointed...

I'm almost certain you said the same thing before we picked up Remmers last year, and probably something similar before we signed Dwan Edwards a few years ago.

I'm not holding my breath for anything but length of contract is irrelevant as we wouldn't be responsible for any previously guaranteed money(the team that cuts them has to eat it as dead money). So if someone has a 3 or even 10 year contract from someone else and we scoop them on waivers we can cut them at our diescretion without having to worry about cap penalties.

Not that I recall, but regardless Edwards was unusual and I believe Remmers was a mid-season pickup.

Good things can happen, but it's not something that happens enough that I'd expect it.
