Other Teams Final Cuts

I was really surprised Nix was cut, I was high on him that year.  Others I'd really like us to take a look at are Jean-Baptist, Still, Abbrederis, Dezmin Lewis, Cyril Richardson.  Marion Grice (RB) is one I was really high on that year too, but we're way too fat at RB to bother looking at another, heh.

However, I believe the Panthers brass are too emotionally set on their favorites/project players to make the moves.

This meme needs to die. Its about as moronic a thing that I've ever seen on these forums. Are we fuging 12 here? We've had more roster turnover here in the past two years than we've had in the ten prior combined. This idea meme is just flat out stupid. It isn't true and there are zero merits to this idea. I hate some of of stupid fuging fans sometimes.

Nix has had something like three knee surgeries in the past four years.

Abbrederis missed all last season with a torn ACL and all of this preseason with a concussion.

I'm pretty sure Still is not actually that good. The Bengals just kept him to help his daughter. Now that he's vested, they let him go.

And the more I read about Jean-Baptiste, the more I wanna stay away from him.

Kudos to the Bengals though for keeping Still until he was vested.

This cut deserves far more Pub than the Golden Calf's cut received.

Class move.

Ah, I hadn't heard all those injury issues.  Yea, take Nix and Abbrederis off my list then heh.  Still's not GREAT, but I do think he's solid and could make a worthy successor to Dwan Edwards (finally remembered his name) as our backup to Short.  SJB, I dunno, I'm still going off predraft hype with him.  No clue how he actually did in his limited snaps in the NFL.

I do remember thinking even last year that he wasn't that good.

(granted, nobody on the 'all safety' defense can be said to have shined that much)

For now, it's enough for me to enjoy that the Saints wasted a high draft pick.

Players who improve depth now that were cut:

Darryl Johnson OG; Cyril Richardson OG; Tyrus Thompson OT; David Yankey OG; Chris Martin OT; Brett Boyko OT; Laurence Gibson OT; John Wetzel OT; Hakeem Nicks WRDezmin Lewis WR; Duron Carter WR; Vince Mayle WR; Jarred Addrederis WR; Nick Toon WR; Arthur Lynch TE; Taiwan Jones LB; Craig Loston SEd Reynolds S; Darnell Dockett DT; Louis Nix DTDevon Still DT.

All of them are improvements over Nate Chandler OT; Chris Scott OG, Amini Silatolu OT; Jerricho Cotchery WR; Corey Brown WR; Kevin Norwood WR; Richie Brockel TE; Ben Jacobs LB; Colin Jones S; Dean Marlowe S; Kyle Love DT; Colin Cole DT; Dwan Edwards DT.

Trade out the above listed Panthers for the cut players in bold and you have a massive improvement in the talent of the Panthers depth. However, I believe the Panthers brass are too emotionally set on their favorites/project players to make the moves.

This is utter and complete nonsense.

It does not even deserve further discussion.

I remember several Saints fans came here saying SJB was the next Sherman. Also remember Patriots fans saying Dobson was better than Jerry Rice.

Not only that, several guys on that list will be lucky to find anyone to pick them up due to injury concerns.

Or in some cases, 'not a very good player' concerns.

Just because you remember a guy being good in college, good in the NFL five years ago or even good on that one highlight you saw on ESPN doesn't mean he's actually as good as you think.
