Graham Gano led NFL field goals during preseason (and some other stats re: TDs and total scoring)

Discovered a little tidbit in the Panthers.com announcement re: the 53 man roster today to the effect that Graham Gano has led the NFL in field goals this preseason.  So I went to NFL.com stats to find the details.  Very cool.  Keep it up Graham!

20 Kickers made 100% of their field goal attempt, but most had many fewer attempts than Gano.

It's really interesting when you look at the list sorted by field goal attempts.

Yikes,  I wonder if that Minnesota kicker made their roster?  Only 5 of 11

I'd rather be scoring TDs.

Well, if Gano made 10 FGs that's 30 points.

We scored 95 points in preseason, so that's 65 points on TDs (9 TDs plus extra points).

2.25 TDs per game & 2.5 FGs per game.  23 - 24 points per game.  Not too shabby, especially with our D.  But of course, it's preseason.  Doesn't mean much.  It wasn't all or even mostly our 1st team O scoring points...

Still, I'm pretty happy with the momentum we've got going into the season.

And good heavens, a surprise, we're 5th in TOTAL SCORING.  I had no idea we were so high.

Full stats are here.  I've deleted a lot of columns to fit the table below.

@KB_fan

Thank you for all the research and time to enlighten the board!  I enjoy all your threads!

You're welcome.  It's been fun.  Unfortunately I don't expect to post as much in the coming weeks.  My slow season at work has come to a close, and the coming weeks look to be very busy.  Most of my posting will probably now be on game days.  But hopefully I can find some evenings to do some Panthers stat crunching...!  It's a nice change of pace for me.
