Don't hold your breath for a WR claim today

I think we go into week one with what we've got at WR, but depending on how it goes, I think we'll add a vet after week one when his salary won't be guaranteed.

We already know how it is going to go in week 1. Run game or bust. Failed 3rd down conversions in the passing game. Lack of receiving threats in the red zone causing the run game to go no where. Settling for FGs and the possibility of Cam getting injured from running so much.

Carolina's defense will need to hold the Jags to less than 14 points to win the game.

We have been here before.

As for the OT argument from last season, it took 10 weeks to eventually grab Remmers from a practice squad and pair him with a udfa who barely made the team to turn around that mess. Most knew by the end of preseason that was a failure, but we had to wait for Rivera and Gettleman to prove it to themselves all the way to the point of no return. Same thing this year, but with the WR position.

Panthers 3-7 and the Panthers finally pick up a WR from a practice squad to pair with Funchess. Then the passing game starts to produce. Shame we have to wait 10 more weeks to see that happen.

And for the argument that the Panthers have the worst WR corps in the NFL... that is easy; they do have the worst. KB is out of the argument. Your starting receivers are Ginn and Brown. Yep the worst in the NFL. Most #3 and #4 WRs in the NFL would be an immediate #1 for the Panthers without even knowing the playbook.

The Browns Dwayne Bowe and Travis Benjamin even make Ginn and Brown look bad.

    • Just like WR, you thin ignite and then suffer an injury and you are scrambling.  Any RB could have run through some of those those holes though and maybe you don’t get the same xtra yards but you are getting yardage.  It is the pass catching they will miss the most.
    • Without Sanders, they are stil catching balls. Sanders is about a giveaway to it will be a pass play.   Also, hoping we see the competition at RB keep both guys on their toes.
    • I was talking about pre season hype vs now.  They were talking about him being the best route runner on the team and being unguardable.  Putting people in the blender.  He has had 1 catch the last two games, and before that it was 2 per game. I like Renfrow, but it seems him and Bryce are not on the same page.
