Shaq Thompson officially the starter Sunday

Shaq as the starter is the correct move.

Now Tre Boston needs to be starting over Coleman. That may take a big play or two where Coleman and Harper get burned for touch downs, but it will happen. Just wish the move was made so they have a safety on the field who can cover ground, Coleman and Harper are not coming across the field to intercept the ball near the sideline when a top QB was certain the receiver was wide open.

Learn the hard way. Need to move Boston to starting FS and Coleman to SS. Harper comes in for Coleman on red zone packages and dime packages.

Didn't Coleman get an INT on Tom Brady? And he led AZ in INTs last year. Granted with 3 but the point is, it looks like he's more than capable in coverage.

Thrilled Shaq has developed so quickly in spite of the various challenges that he's named a starter.  Awesome.

As for the Boston vs. Coleman debate, I predict Coleman could vie for a spot as one of our core defensive players.  Not only does he look like a great ball hawk who is physical and TOUGH, he seems to have that fire and ability to motivate the D.  TD leads as the emotional heart (and of course his pro-bowl level performance too.)  Luke with his outstanding motivation, commitment and technical skill.  Coleman could be the "fire in the belly" guy - he's the one coaches had to remind not to pound our own O players during Camp!  I'm LOVING what I see of him.

I'm thinking Harper will be gone next year?  Not sure of his contract status though...

    • That's basically it. Some here talking about this and that. At this point in his career, teams already know what they're getting. The first round stuff has long past. He's been a solid player nonetheless, even for us. But there always comes a time when age begins to catch up with you.  We're obviously making the room younger, and that's the priority as it should be. Joining a contender as a good rotational piece is probably the best thing that he can do if he wants to make an impact and maybe even get a ring.
    • She's here for the celebrity rub as much as anything, the sugar daddy money is a side benefit. But... he hasn't put a ring on her finger, so there's no long term money investment or worries for Bill. What does Bill get? Well... just look and you can tell. The guy has cut quite a few all-Pro players in his career. Just saying.
    • Wonnum and Patrick Jones are solid starters and should be able to play well as we allow the rookies to get their feet wet. Between those 4 and Barno needing to be active for special teams reasons how was Clowney gonna get his reps? Good on the front office for pulling the band aid off now because I guarantee you by mid-season Clowney would be complaining about playing time and production exactly like he did in Cleveland.  Clowney needs to learn that teams view him as a productive veteran stop gap with attitude issues and no team is building their edge room around him.
