Panthers Marketing Survey for Dissertation

Thanks for the thoughts p55...and your thoughts on the Panthers target market sound like my own...

I expect these results will back up much of your thoughts. Unfortunately, being in the UK, I am not able to collect much better data, and the Internet is my primary outlet other than personal contacts. If I have time, I would like to contact business schools in NC and SC and see if they would administer surveys to their faculty and/or students, seeing as the marketing perspective would have some relevance to them.

Which 3 of the words above do you value the most as a Carolina Panthers fan? tough. rugged, successful

Do you feel the Carolina Panthers organisation effectively encourages fan social interaction? They have a number of community programs designed to encourage fans support, interaction and ideas like fitness.

Do you feel the Carolina Panthers organisation effectively rewards fan loyalty? Not unless they start picking fans in the upper deck with a opportunity to win a cruise. Seems folks down low win everything. Those of us in the cheap seats are second class citizens.

What suggestions would you give the Carolina Panthers Marketing Department to improve your overall fan experience?

Get rid of the Harris Tetter and promotional ads and replace them during timeouts with scoreboard led cheers designed to encurage fans to yell and support the team.

Let us see replays on the big screens.

Which 3 of the words above do you value the most as a Carolina Panthers fan? If you're describing the organization the only word is INCONSISTENT. If you're describing the atmosphere - sissy, preppy, snotty

Do you feel the Carolina Panthers organisation effectively encourages fan social interaction? Nope!

Do you feel the Carolina Panthers organisation effectively rewards fan loyalty? Sure, they reward you with your own personal security guards to escort you out the door when you cheer. Name me another team that shows that kind of loyalty.

What suggestions would you give the Carolina Panthers Marketing Department to improve your overall fan experience?

1. Get rid of the pregame prayer. There is a time and a place for that and a sporting event isnt one of them.

2. Change the music.. No more bubble gum music! That would only be acceptable if we had 70,000 12 year old girls in attendence.

3. Quit forcing the fight song down our throats. No one likes it!

4. Lighten the hell up on the rules. Ive seen fans kicked out for bouncing beach balls for crying out loud!

5. Do more to keep the fans involved.

6. It seems the crowd is better when they give out those rally towels. Do that more often.

Get riid of the pregame prayer,no way! Gayman, you must be an atheist,or else a screwed up little person, probably both. That would account for some of your way out and strange actions.

They may not say prayers at the local gay bar you frequent

,but don't expect that to be the case at NFL games.

Pregame prayers are not an NFL thing. Its soley a panther thing. Ive been to other stadiums and none of them had a pregame prayer and Ive heard many visiting fans say they never heard of it either. Like I said there is a time and a place for it and a sporting event isnt one of them. You have many people who go to the games that are not christian but are expected to honor a christian prayer. How would you feel if they said a muslim or a hindu prayer before the games? You'd feel uncomfortable wouldnt you? Keep the prayers in church or at home. They dont belong at an NFL game.

The stadium should shoot t-shirts out of plastic cannons to different sections in the stadium like they do at the Hurricanes game. It's so much the Panthers can do to make the atmosphere better, I'm almost better off by staying at home and watching the game on my big screen HDTV with surround sound. But I don't want it to be that way.

And Gman I don't like some of the previous comments you have made on this board (make me feel like you hate our team the Panthers) but you are right about this one.

Not true that other stadiums don't have prayers. I have been to the Falcons and Washington stadiums last year and they both had pregame prayers. The content is typically to ask for safety for the players and fans which seems approriate to me. If I remember correctly the All Star shootout at Lowes Motor Speedway did a prayer as well.

As for a Muslim or Hindu prayer, you honeslty think that if you went to a sporting game in countries where that was the main religion, you wouldn't have a prayer before an event. Get real.

It isn't like you are forced to partcipate. You can always take that time to go to the concession stands, take a pee or completely ignore it. Or you can do your usual activity of counting opposing fans numbers to report back here what bad fans we are. I figure you don't care either way. You just want to make sure you bash the Panthers anyway you can. You covered religion, what about politics??

I don't know what NFL stadiums you have been to Gayman, but i feel sure i've been to more than you and all of them had a pregame prayer.

I feel sure, after reading some of your posts you are not a christian, and that is your choice, but thankfully this is still a christian nation, and as such prayers are not only accepted as normal, but welcomed at sporting events, whether you like it or not,

You should try praying sometime, perhaps it would change your lifestyle, and give you a more positive outlook, not only toward the Panthers, but life in general.

Now don't come back and tell a lie,by saying you are satisified with the way you are now.Your mouth would only say one thing, but your actions on the Huddle forum say something to the contrary.

Not true at all! I went to Atlanta last year and the year before and there was no pregame prayer. I went to Washington several years ago and there was no prayer when I went. I went to Green Bay last year too and there was no prayer. I hear visiting fans say all the time that they have never heard of a pregame prayer at a sporting event until they came to BOA stadium. Pre game prayers are not a league wide thing like you seem to be suggesting.

You missed my point entirely. Many of the people in the stands come from different faiths or may be athiest/agnostic or whatever. How would you feel if you were expected to honor a prayer of a faith you didnt beleive in or had to deal with people giving you dirty looks if you didnt? Look at it from through their point of view. It is totally inappropriate to force religion down everyones throat just because the majority may be christian. I already dont participate. I usually sit down and read my program after I spent the first three seconds noticing how empty the stadium is. I have been harrassed on two occasions by people telling me I should stand and both times I told them to mind their own business. The fact is Jerry Richardson is forcing his faith down our throats because he is a christian. Yes, I have heard of them doing pregame prayers at the speed way and at the old hornet games. Charlotte is a bible thumping town, so I guess they assume the whole town is christian. Couldnt be further from the truth.

As far as politics, Republicans are all rednecks. That is all!:D
