If you look at the plays he has made over the last two years, he has had better outcomes on deep balls; where it is easier to catch with the body. He had a similar one against Atlanta last year. Even with decent route running, I think most of his drops are coming on short and intermediate attempts where the ball is coming in hotter and he needs to use his hands because of the trajectory.

He grabbed it with his hands and pulled it into his body before hitting the ground.  Whats wrong with that?

 

Before that, if memory serves he made a nice catch "with his hands" before being hit hard by a defender, and held on to the ball.  Granted, the guy is not Lynn Swann or Jerry Rice, but he deserves some credit for his play on Sunday.  Hopefully, its a sign of things to come.
