If Funchess dedicates himself to the weight room and continues to improve, he's gonna cost a lot of money for us to keep him through his prime years.

Wouldnt be surprised to see him here as a possible hybrid tight end or vise-versa with KB once Olsen's contract is up.

We need a burner to replace Ginn and hopefully we can truly get a WR that can push Benji/Funchess for that #1 receiver we've never really had.

to clarify, Steve Smith is the best receiver we've had here, but he and most of the fans, always wanted him to be in the slot and to have a true #1 opposite him.

oh yea forgot we got the longest winning streak of any team in the NFLReg season at 7 Cowgirls lost. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!

this has nothing to do with anything close to what this thread is about, but I like your optimism and the bragging rights that comes with it.

speaking of cowgis...besides having the two finest groups of cheerleaders on the field at the same time....I can't wait for Thanksgiving!!! How awesome would it be if we knocked out the Lions for our team playing every thanksgiving?

It would be awesome!!!

Ive  honestly been a little disappointed with Funchess

I know hes, young, raw, but I just feel he doesnt play to his size as far as what Ive seen. Perhaps Im spoiled by KB but he just seems to play flimsy and stuff.

Im not sayng hes gunna be good but I think hes a compliment to KB or a #1, not a #1 guy. KB is just so physically dominating, I feel Devin can be a YAC guy and a dynamic guy. Its possible Devin just cant shine in this offense at least at the moment considering being raw and his expirience and his BUM OC and supporting cast

but, hes 21 years old, 3 years younger than KB. production lag is expected. He cant get away with poo as much as KB.. KB relied alot on just being a physical beast, Devin has to be more of a technition.  He'll get there

just hoping he doesn't get butterflies or has ill-effects after getting hit like that.

Taking a big hit like that and shaking it off could be a real confidence booster because that's about as hard a hit as one can take. What doesn't kill you makes you strongekimda-thing.

Still can't believe how young he is and with his frame, he could gain a good bit of muscle and be a truly special receiver in time.

Im not concerned about his current production and it's gonna be great watching him develop over the years. No one can really say what type of talent he will be until he gets more reps and becomes fully developed and comfortable within the offense.

Just a catch or three during each game is all I'm expecting for him but I think he'll score in the red zone over the next few games.

I'm not all that concerned really. It doesn't seem like he's in the doghouse with the coaches and he actually gets a few chances on Sundays. As long as he keeps getting chances and keeps making great catches I think his reps will keep improving. I think the lack of TC for the most part really hurt him.

    • Well even if we took diverging paths getting there...our overall assessment of Shough is the same (bolded) lol so I guess that's what matters.  What you call "playing at a level that looks like a veteran starter" is the same thing I'm referencing when I talk about his poise.  Although I still wonder how truly "bad" of a team the Saints are.  Their defense is middle-of-the-road, and their offense does have some good pieces (Olave, Juwan Johnson) outside of running back which is the position most everyone agrees is relatively plug-and-play.  I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the majority of NFL team's o-lines lol but I'm assuming Saints are not great there, although Shough's pressure % seems to have been quite low (and steadily improving) over the last four weeks (20 -> 16.7 -> 15.0 -> 13.0) so maybe they've been playing better as of late, or perhaps Shough himself deserves credit for that.   Some of the language I'm hearing about Shough, including talking about how he's way above league average in several categories, makes it sound like Shough is having a rookie season on par with like a CJ Stroud who established himself as basically a Top 5-10 QB his rookie season.  Maybe that's on me though, I don't mean to attribute anything to you that I'm sure you don't agree with.
    • Since your being selective (and somewhat deceptive) with your comparisons, I'll throw this up so we can compare apples to apples. Both Young and Shough have played against the Rams. Young went: 15/20 (75%) for 191 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs with a 147.1 QB rating Shough went: 15/24 (62.5%) for 176 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT with a 81.2 QB rating   Both Young and Shough have played against the Buccs. Young went: 21/32 (65%) for 206 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs with a 102.5 QB rating Shough went: 13/20 (65%) for 176 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT with a 65.4 QB rating   Both Young and Shough have played against the Falcons. Young went: 31/45 (75%) for 448 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs with a 123.2 rating Shough went: 30/43 (69.7%) for 243 yards, 0TD, 1 INT with a 74 QB rating   Seriously, in what world is Shough a better QB.
    • Freddie? For this game? Seriously? I don’t get it. Hope we get the best version of Freddie tonight.
