If it was last December 30

Imagine the Eagles coming to BofA at the end of December last year. Would you have expected a win or a loss?

Now rip out the core of their defensive secondary (Dawkins and Bradley), toss out two offensive linemen, add depth for Westbrook and bring Curtis back.

On the Panthers, pretend Kemo is out (just like at the Giants), replace Lucas with Marshall, give us a better third receiver, and toss in a better third running back than Goings.

What kind of outcome would you have predicted?

I would have expected an "L" then, to answer your question. Philly is one of those teams where I always expect the Cats to lose to them.

Yeah, when was the last time we beat them in the regular season?

Since we have better luck in the playoffs, maybe the question would be better if the date was changed to January 10 and the Cardinals were switched with the Eagles. It's crazy how we can win or lose in the regular season to a team but the opposite happens in the playoffs.

We've never beaten the Dolphins. Guess that makes it an automatic L?

These sorts of records are kind of silly. We've happened to play the Eagles mainly in years where we weren't very good. The exception was 2003, when we lost to them. Then again, in 99 we weren't very good and we beat them convincingly.

Had we played them last December the home team would have won. I expect a win on Sunday, but the score will be high.

    • I am gonna say good for him. That is kind of impressive.
    • That does sound familiar. Those fans are deep. In snow lol. you don’t want to be up there in January.   I would think they have probably seen it all. Except what…  the championship? Gotta feel for them.
    • I thought he was from watching him play and also doing his first HC job. I thought he was the real deal  Apparently what happened is Kraft committed to Mayo and I don’t remember the timeline exactly - but Vrabel was unemployed at the same time Belichick was unemployed. They both were fired (or out) after the 2023 season.  Kraft hired Mayo. Who was kind of an obvious disaster. He probably already had the deal in place but I will give Kraft credit for not sleeping. With Vrabel out there for 2025 he made the move he needed to make and if it hurt Mayo’s feelings then oh well.  I guess you can tell I am not fond of Kraft but that was a really savvy move. At his age, pretty good. Still has it.
