nmandi got that pick bc jake threw a horrible pass.....he is a shut down corner but even they get burnt,i would have loved if we would have tried him some more. and they didnt have saftey help, oakland mans up on the corner and let there safetys roam the field really to help with the run.

My dude lol

Watch the play again. You are correct, Jake threw a bad pass. But the safety was right there too. Just like the other interception. The ball was intercepted by a safety coming over

Yall actually think he played him one on one lol. You play the game to win, not prove somebody is the best. Yeah he did what he was supposed to do, but there was help

Asomugha didn't shut down Steve Smith, Delhomme is the one who made Smith look bad. As much as I like Delhomme, can you imagine if we had a accurate QB throwing Smith the ball? The play where Asmomugha shut down Smith was a stupid ass pass to delhomme. He threw a terrible deep ball against a CB who is 6'2.

I don't know why Delhomme keeps throwing deep to Steve Smith when he has CB's like D. Hall and Asmomugha lined up against him. Smith is a lot more effective when's running slants, and crossing routes because his YAC is insane. Yeah he has a 40 inch vertical but it's still going to be difficult for him at times to catch jump balls when's only 5'9. If Asomugha shut down Steve Smith I guess Chris Johnson did the same since he lined up against him throught the gm.

i almost stopped ready when you mentioned hall.

you can't possibly be serious.

:smilielol5::rofl:

haven't watched many panther games have you?

i'm glad someone else saw that.

asomugha was on smith once...maybe twice.

Yeah i know everyone hates D Hall including me but don't pls don't act like Steve Smith destroyed him every time they faced each other. How many times did Smith beat D Hall deep? Maybe you should read what I wrote before you try to come off as a "know it all". I know Steve Smith can catch deep balls I'm not retarded. Smith is more effective when running slants, smoke route and crossing routes because he's a monster when he's in open space.

Nice comeback.........:rolleyes5:

He did last year

nnamdi-asomugha.jpg

last year was held to 1 reception for 9 yards and we barely won that game

Yea but they rolled coverage also..... I dont think we will ever see a team put there best CB one on one with Smith after what happened to Smoot and about ever other "Shut down" CB that year. The Eagles will roll coverage too Smith because they are not worried about Moose burning them. End of story.

What Rello said was true in a way. Hall plays Steve Smith pretty good. He cannot however shut him down. Last time they played was Deangelo's meltdown game, and Steve was going to the house on him when he tackled him and got the PI penalty.

Asomugha broke up 2 passes that Jake threw to Steve and it wasn't because they were extremely bad throws. Asomugha ran the route better than Steve Smith did. He best corner in league period. Anyone who watched that game would realize this.

Samuels is a good cornerback also. I think with the proper scheme he is good enough to "contain" Steve Smith. 1 on 1, it wouldn't be a contest, but thats why its the Eagles vs Panthers and not Steve Smith vs Asante Samuels.

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
