Says the team is "real confident and hungry."

He says that people talking down about Cam obviously aren't looking at the games.

He says the team is not worried about people talking about the caliber of their competition. He says they are just trying to stay focused on winning, and the respect will come.

Says that the Packers are a "well-coached defense".

He says that their secondary is a little banged up, but he hopes to face their best.

He says he is the fastest man on the team.  He says if they had a 100 meter, then he would get the gold, Ginn, the silver, and probably Teddy Williams, the bronze.

It was a short interview. He's a really good and high character guy.

He wasn't on there very long. But hearing him speak, you can understand why the staff, and players like him so much. He doesn't at all seem like the type who would take the role that he has earned here for granted. He's had his growing pains, but it's made him a better player moving forward.

What is somewhat easy to forget is, he's only 23. Taking that into consideration also helps put things into perspective in regards to the struggles we have seen from our rookie WR Devin Funchess this season, who himself is only 21 years old. If Brown can work through it, I see no reason why Funchess cannot as well.

Rivera really talked him up in his presser today.  They feel like they will find a permanent spot for him once the offense settles down, and they can work him in other spots, "in terms of 'this' is where he needs to play, whether it's the slot, or the z, or x."  I took that as, once KB is back, and we're not having to force guys into certain spots.

He also said that he has greatly improved on attacking the ball(high pointing, getting in front of defenders, etc.).  He still has a small frame, and can get bumped off of his spot, but if he gets the first step, he puts himself in good position... and what they've seen is him getting that good position, more often than not.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
