The New "Big Game"

Thought a lot about this yesterday...remember what we've considered big games in past seasons? It was usually something like, 'This is a big game, because if we win it, and five other things go our way, we could make the playoffs!' At least, that's how it would go with mid-season big games. This year, our big games have a lot more to do with playoff positioning, home field advantage, seeding tiebreakers, etc. And, not coincidentally, these games actually feel like playoff games.

We've had regular season games that have felt like playoff games before, but never this early in the season. It's just such a different, great feeling. I wonder...is this how every big game feels to consistently good teams like New England? It's also so nice to have big, playoff implication games with non-division rivals. Again, most of our regular season big games in the past have come against the NFC South.

Maybe I'm rambling a bit, but this is a great feeling. Hope we can keep it going for years to come and truly continue to create a winning atmosphere.

Next big game is Tennessee, not to sound cliched.

It may be a cliche, but it's true.

I forget where I read it / who said it.  I think it was one of our players quoted by Bill Voth in his quote round up this morning.  But someone yesterday said (paraphrased) "it will be like the superbowl for every opposing team we play.  We're the ones to beat.  We're the ones with the huge target on our back."

TRUE WORDS.
