Some guy named Marc James was so sure Rivera was getting canned this day, man o man was he wrong. FF to today..11-0, Playoff bound, MVP candidate, DPOY candidate, 10+ probowlers possibility...I could go for days. This is just a reminder, don't always get caught up in emotions.

This panthers team has scored more points in 11 games than they did in an entire season in 10 of the previous 20 seasons.  They scored 7 more points all last year then they have in the first 11 games this year.

At the current pace, they would score 483 points this year to demolish their previous record of 421 in 1999.

Im glad ron rivera has proved everyone wrong.

I was a huge Ron fan even in the hard times. He just has a personality and a way to connect with players that I knew he was going to turn this team around. Glad they stuck with him. I just knew he would help turn this into a winning franchise. Now we are undefeated and going on 3 straight division championships and are being considered the most complete and best team in the NFL

There were a lot of people last year who felt that our 12-4 season was the fluke and we'd gone back to our losing ways, though they will be reluctant to admit it now. Can't remember if I was ever officially part of the "Rivera needs to go" crowd or not last year. I do remember being extremely frustrated with his/Shulas's conservative ways, his poor game management, and his refusal to adjust the starting line up and bench underperforming vets. I do remember thinking even when we were 3-8-1 that he was a good defensive coach and players would always play hard for him.

He may not be great tactician, but the guy is a master motivator that knows how to push all the right buttons.

I'd say he's a much better tactician and defensive mind than everyone on this board gives him credit for. These defences that we put together make sure the right people are used exactly to their strengths in the same way Bellichek coaches his team. They aren't simple cover 1 or Tampa 2 either like some teams run, these are complex schemes that have taken patience and a lot of work to install.

And I would say the best thing this team has improved on this year, and the most important thing for a Super Bowl type team is situational coaching. They seem to be able to identify a qb/defences weaknesses so much better and our takeaways and redzone improvements are proof of that.

I did not know he was in hot water last year, he had just come off a 12-4 season.... that should at least buy you a season

Patience. We don't have enough patience anymore. Sometime you can just tell. Rivera has been getting better and better, unlike some coaches..cough chip kelly...cough..
