Has Devin Funchess earned the starting spot?

He is a rookie. People have been spoiled by last years WR class.

Sure he had a rough go of it early in the season, but he has shown flashes of why Gettleman moved up to draft him.

Let him finish the season before passing such judgements.

I'm not saying he shouldn't get playing time because we drafted this guy to be our #2 at some point. In the future he could change. I was referring to the RIGHT NOW. And he hasn't proven to be that much better than PB if at all.

I think who starts at WR is about as important as who started last week at DE. In the end, Ealy got a TON of snaps and had a really good game. Let the veteran Brown be the technical starter and then give the Saints a healthy does of Funchess if he gets hot.

Brown isn't a vet.

He doesn't qualify for the vet treatment of getting the designated starter tag and then falls into a rotation.

Funchess is a rythem player.  Inserting him into random plays IMO isn't how you develop him.

Obviously we need a rotation and match ups matter but I think if all are healthy....Ginn, Fun and Cotchery need more reps.  We always need speed so Philly still has a role that matters

Gotcha. Well I can't disagree with that really.

What is good to see though is that Cam clearly has confidence in Devin. Just like he did with Kelvin last year, and they developed good chemistry, and things began to click between them as the season went on. I would like to see Funchess finish the season strong.
