Methinks you don't know what a game manager is.

Dalton and Romo are good QBs. Smart, hard workers, leaders, and can win (or lose) you a game.

Tyrod Taylor, Luke McCown, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bryan Hoyer, THOSE are game managers. Journeymen. Just give this team some hope and don't fug up.

Somebody say game manager?

That's not the full story though. To act like his supporting cast hasn't gotten worse is ignoring facts. He went from having White in his prime, Julio, Tony Gonzalez, Harry Douglas and a good checkdown option in Jaquizz Rodgers out of the backfield to Julio, Freeman, White (who is now a shell of himself) and Tamme who has never been a difference maker at the TE position. Again....Cam is better than Ryan, but that's not what the discussion is about. Cam being better than Ryan doesn't make Ryan's weapons outside of Julio any less mediocre. Could Cam do more with what Ryan has? Yea...I would bet he could, but Ryan's weapons still have suffered a pretty sizable drop off.

His weapons MAY NOT be as good as they have been in the past.  However, they are still plenty good for a good QB to win with.

Ryan is more of the problem than is WR's are.

I would choose the team that has Greg Olsen on it. You can't swap WR and not include the entire pass catching unit.

You're correct. Obviously Olsen is a lot better than Tamme. I was comparing the #1's, veterans, and rookie receivers mentioned in the original post. On paper, Ryan is throwing to a more talented bunch. Even when you add in tight ends, his weapons, as a whole, are as good as if not better than Cam's. My point was that it was letting Ryan off the hook way too easy to blame his piss-poor performance on a lack of weapons. Cam and Rodgers (bot elite QB's) lost their best receivers before the season began, and are both finding ways to win.

If we were comparing to what he had in the past you would be right.. But the point we are disagreeing with the article about is.. His weapons aren't bottom of the league bad... a better QB could do good work with the weapons he has... He is to blame for his failings not his weapons or the system...

    • If the first 3 hit I'm 100% cashing out lol. You got anything today. I don't like anything
    • "I'm not stunned," Hansbrough said. "We talked about it at halftime, you asked me 'you have to be pretty happy.' And I said, 'No I've seen this story before.' I've seen this happen. They just had some lapses in games where they just go still offensively, defensively. Their competitiveness just drops a little bit. They never step on anybody's throat. When they have a team with a little bit of a lead, they never step on the throat. It's been something all year." The only disagreement I'd have with Hansbrough's assessment is that it's not limited to just this year. It's been Hubert's entire tenure. Hallmarks of Hubert's teams are: streaky shooting, streaky focus, running your starters into the dirt because you won't sub, and absolutely embarrassingly bad plays put of timeouts. It all points straight to the coach. When the roster keeps changing but the core fundamental issues keep recurring, it's not the players.
    • Leafs are broken. Out of the playoffs and Matthews done for the year.  It's either a very dangerous game against a team who doesn't give a fug and will leave it all on the ice, or a team who's thrown in the towel with an effort to match. And, yes, I'm sitting in the Miami Airport waiting on my next flight. Will be back in Lenovo both 28 & 29 for the b2b.
