Wow, this team has really taken on the persona of its QB. 

That's why Smitty had to leave. I get it now. I hated it when he was released. I didn't think we had a plan to replace our best player. Yes, Smitty was still our best player. Turns out they didn't need to replace Smitty, just his production - and they've used multiple players to do just that. 

But more importantly, releasing Steve Smith allowed Cam Newton to take control of this team. I don't think Steve would have intentionally held Cam back, but his presence likely held Cam back. Cam looked up to Steve too much and that prevented Cam from leading him. That prevented Cam from leading the team. In the team photo, I see multiple players, young (Funchess) and old taking their que from Cam. Very telling. He is pulling that Auburn magic where the entire team believes they can win because of him. Ginn believes because of Cam. This is an exciting time to be a Panthers fan, because Cam isn't one and done here. We likely have him for the rest of his football playing career!

The second TD pass to Ginn was a thing of beauty from Cam. He released the ball a good bit before Ted even broke free. It caught me off guard because Cam hasn't really shown that in the past. After the play, I looked around and said to the guys around me, "Did he, just, let that ball..." and another fan says, "let it go about 2 seconds before? Yep." SO AWESOME.

This team is competitive with each other.
