i wouldn't hate it if it wasn't invariably some large adolescent-looking glassed male in a steelers jersey or a woman that looks like a far side character stuffed into a cowboys jersey or that one skeeze with gold teeth and a tattered mike vick alternate.

just for once why can't it be some cool guy from kansas city or something wearing a chiefs jersey and making self-deprecating jokes about his team and buying you a beer to be a good sport? why is it never that guy?

Some people have no choice.  Free tix one way or another. I KNEW I would get a ton of poo.  I was buying a hotdog at heinzs field and my hat got ripped off my head and stolen as the their laughed and ran away.

I'm with you 100% even though I've never done it. It's not attention seeking IMO, more-so just unbridled support for your favorite NFL team. Nothing wrong with a true fan that carries himself with respect representing his team, especially at a sports event. People care way too much what others think if they think it's such a big deal. It's really just entertainment and a source of enjoyment in the end.

I wear my Panthers gear proudly anywhere I can. I've not had the opportunity to go to a game where the Panthers are not playing, but I'd probably wear Panthers gear if I did. Just like in the store or mall or restaurant; I love when people ask me about my team.

And the Broncos fan is a good dude. He screams along side me when the Panthers are on. We can support each without hurting our own teams, so it works. 

Unless, of course, we play them. Then all bets are off.
