Guys, the disrespect continues: a coworker of mine thinks the Panthers will lose to the Bengals in the Super Bowl. Bulletin board material!

again, you keep talking about ACC play.  I am talking national respect.

I'm talking about playing the disrespect card.  Dabo and Clemson play and have played it hard this year.  Doesn't always have to be real disrespect....teams/coaches flat out use it as a tool regardless.  I'm just saying you can't argue that Dabo isn't and hasn't used it....b/c he bluntly has said it.

so yeah, if you are the #1 team in the nation for weeks heading into the college playoffs......and every game you are at least a 7 pt dog.  You better believe a coach like Dabo is going to play that card harder than anyone has tried to play it.

and case in point....you just brought up "Clemsoning" actually being a thing and justified.  Dabo exploded on the dude who foolishly uttered it.  It would be on par for bashing Ron Rivera for what John Fox did.   Check Clemson's record under Dabo....and tell me anyone in the country has the right to bring up "Clemsoning" to him.

If you don't think Clemson is disrespected, then you really can't say Carolina is.....b/c it is really identical.  Clemson is a 7 pt dog in all college playoff games for the same reason Carolina likely is a opening line dog or push vs Seattle if they blow out the Vikes.

If Clemson loses to any ACC team besides Florida State, that poo is Clemsoning.  Clemson has more talent every year than every team but Florida State.  No offense, that's the way it is.  And no way in Hell are the Panthers situation, and Clemson's identical.

In the last 4 years Clemson has never lost to any football team that wasn't ranked in the top 25.  How many programs in the country can you say that about?  You straight up talking Tommy Bowden football.   Last 4 years (Dabo era) Clemson has been one of the top teams in the nations in term of consistency.

Clemson and the Panthers are similar from a NATIONAL perspective this season.  Clemson gets the pat on the head....that they did pretty good for an ACC team.  They technically get the #1 seed.  But when looked at from a national perspective.....most agree they really aren't on par w/ Oklahoma.  They get past that.  Then it is "well, yeah but you really aren't on par w/ Alabama".  The Panthers basically are the ACC Clemson of the 2016 NFL season.

Okay, you are 10-0 is but you gotta remember Carolina has a weak (ACC) schedule.  Oh 14-0 is nice but we gotta remember they are barley squeaking by.  Oh look Carolina is playing Dallas (SEC team) on Thanksgiving, surely they will be Clemsoning.   I mean we can claim they are #1 b/c of the record but we all know the teams to beat are going to be elsewhere.  Oh, see, Carolina lost to Atlanta and is now 14-1...I told you can't trust those Clemsoning Panthers.  They ain't no Arizona.   Oh, they have the best record again?  Well, we can put them number one but let's be real....Seattle (Alabama) is just flat out better.

I'm strictly talking national perspective.  Clemson and the Panthers aren't that much different this year from THAT perspective and both coaches are playing the same angle w/ their ball teams

Clemson has been ranked nationally almost every season man.  They get plenty of respect, Dabo can keep playing that disrespect card, but even the CFB Playoff committee had them ranked one where as nobody else did when the rankings first came out.  Not to mention, Alabama has the best coach in the nation, and best program.  Hard to argue with those facts.

Dabo's angle makes no sense what so ever.  He's just looking for drama at this point, if you don't get up for the National fuging Championship, it's your players that have issues.  That's for damn sure.

Either way, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.  And that's fine, that's what this forum is for.  Chatting up about football, and not kissing Jeremy's ass like a lot of posters do.

Also I think you guys win, because of the Watson factor.  Even though his accuracy is a complete concern as we saw with Oklahoma.  Saban doesn't do well with mobile QBs.

it is not a world of absolutes.  Not saying they get none.   Oklahoma doesn't have the best coach and program in the nation....they were favored by just as much as Alabama.   Just part of the national perspective.   It is the ACC, it is Tommy Bowden era, never played in the title in recent past,  it is lots of things that actually play against them....that people use to assume things.  National perspective isn't always about what 2 teams do in a given year.

Again, I didn't say it was all legitimate "disrespect.  I said Dabo has played the card to perfection this year.  He has.  It has worked well.

You think it is possible if the Seahawks beat the Vikings soundly that they can't come into the Panther game as a slight Vegas favorite or  push?  If so...you don't think Ron will play that poo to death with his team.  You don't think the Panthers cared they were underdogs to Dallas on Thanskgiving?

Carolina has always looked better in the underdog role.  I ain't complaining.  Carolina is 15-1 and still has potential to play the doubted card coming up.  To me, that is ideal.  That is rare.  National respect isn't something I care about w/ Clemson or Carolina.  I just want them to win.  I personally like it if a team can play w/ that mindset b/c my belief is it can aid a team if played right.

Dabo's angle doesn't make sense to the Tarheels.  I agree.  Dabo isnt' trying to motivate his team based off the perspective of the ACC.   In our little world, we obviously are respected.  Expected, as you said.  But this isn't about ACC country.  This is about the world where the #1 team in the nation is a more than 7 pt dog to the lowest seed in the playoff bracket.

You don't have to agree with me.  If Seattle rolls into Carolina.....IMO Rivera will be treating his team just like Dabo is for Monday night.  Which is having the best team....and still preaching the nobody believes card.  Which is awesome b/c you rarely can pull that off given where Carolina sits (or Clemson).   It takes pressure off IMO (which IMO is a good thing)
