I drive a taxi for the Rail Road. I have lots of time to read. I can read 2-3 books a month on the job. Got the Trilogy for Xmas, along with a Kindle. Took the Trilogy to work, and read the Kindle when I go to bed. Usually read about an hour each night to calm me to sleep.

I have a faint memory of those textbooks of which you speak. Actually, my biggest memory is the wife being jealous of how much time I spent with them. She would stand in the doorway and patiently wait for me to acknowledge her. She can be so cute when she wants to be.

My textbooks are all based on Spanish and Linguistics at this point haha. I love it. But it's thick, technical writing, and time consuming at that. Thankfully, I don't have a woman to want my attention at this point. Idk that I'd be able to focus on school if I did. Haha. Got a bad case of senioritis and any distraction becomes a welcome one. Haha.

I'm really looking forward to being done with school so money won't be so tight, and so I can focus on self-study. I want to study religion, politics, more languages, cultures, economics, and science. So basically everything. ;) I just found that school always wore out my interest in those areas because of constant assignment/test deadline pressure. I feel like, when I can work at my own pace, I will learn so much more and the knowledge will mean more to me. Idk... I just love to learn. Lol. I know... I'm a nerd.

You're an avid reader in yet you missed the part in his OP when he says he became a fan in 02 when we drafted Foster since they played ball together.

and that catch phrase is trademarked by me, you'll be hearing from my lawyer.

Oopsy. I remember his post. I just forgot it in the heat of battle. Yeah, that's the ticket.

The wife's little sister has a friend that's a lawyer. Bring it on.

Maybe some of you guys have already come across this situation but I hadn't until recently. I'll set the mood. I'm one of the only Panthers fans in South Orange County and most everyone who knows me knows that about me. Surprisingly, I got defensive about the Panthers. Not about our record, our players, our coaches or our organization. Nope. I got defensive about me being a true Panthers fan.

It all started when I went to a local ice cream shop to get my beautiful wife some tasty treats after we tucked the kids in for bed. When I finished my order, the kid at the counter saw my jersey and immediately struck up a conversation about my team. What irritated me was he had this look on his face, like he thought I had gotten on the teams bandwagon. What! Me!?! Man I got flustered so fast that I rattled off as much info as I could spew out about the Panthers. He just stood there smiling. It wasn't until I got into my truck that I thought....dang I acted like a little girl. How'd I let this former 12th man fan piss me off? Why was I being so defensive? I mean I've been a fan since 2002. I played high school football with DESHAUN FOSTER (a former Panther) at Tustin HS and became a fan when he got drafted. I was there when Dan Morgan was killing teams and when Steve Smith put us on the map. My wife has seen me turn our garage into a Carolina Panthers west coast museum and she's even traveled to Qualcomm to watch our team smash the Bolts. I've been there when we sucked and when we were good. This was crazy....The Panthers have a bandwagon and I have to come to grips with it.

If it wasn't for IGO's post, "New Years resolutions for Panthers Fans," I'd still be pissed at that kid. Now I don't even care about Bandwagon fans. Heck bring em on, we need our Panthers Nation to spread east to west. I've got nothing to be defensive about.

I'm curious though, anyone else have a funny thing like that happen to them this season?

Dang man, southern Orange County and Tustin High? U must be loaded.  Where do people even work down there to afford living there?

Stood behind a guy at the bank today who had a Brees jersey on. Meanwhile I was wearing a Panthers beanie that his been on my head every winter-ish day since God knows when. He saw said beanie and quipped "Bandwagon's getting a little full, don't you think?". I responded very cheerfully "It sure is! Great time to be a Panthers fan! Say, when the Saints dump their washed up QB, you gonna get a new jersey or just busy out one of your old Cowboys ones?"

I think I would have said, at least we have a bandwagon

being a Browns fan is up there with fighting for deck chairs on the Titantic

One can avoid being called bandwagon by wearing a jersey of a player that nobody else would know. Get Brad Hoover or Wesley Walls or Patrick Jeffers or Eric Davis or  either of Salt and Pepper (Lathon/Greene) or Ricky Manning Jr or Moose or Rod Rutherford or Taye Biddle or Barry Foster or Donald Hayes or Anthony Johnson or Chad Cota or Tim Mckyer or Todd Saurebrun or.............

I've avoided the bandwagon accusations by mostly just wearing my Hornets cap since bball season started.

Maybe it's the masochist in me, but it's just more fun to connect with other fans when we suck. Last year before the Ravens game I was picking up lunch when an older guy stopped me because I was wearing my Panthers cap. We chatted for a bit about whether 89 was going to light us up and went about our day. That kind of thing is why I rep the team in public. This season, that same guy probably would have assumed I was just another pretender and kept on walking.

It's cool that people are finally smelling what we've been cooking for the past few years. I hope they have fun! But at the same time, I wouldn't waste a good Todd Sauerbrun reference on them before stumbling out of the bar.
