Jake Traded in 2010?

Why do folks constantly post this crap as if you can just trade someone with no consequences financial. He is guaranteed 20 million. While the cap wouldn't matter if 2010 is an uncapped year (that is still a big if), you don't toss that kind of money away. Plus you trade when a player's value is high not low. In his case even if he weren't the starter you would keep him around as the back-up for several years. It is hard to find a back-up with starting experience even if he does struggle occasionally. And you may need him later. Look at Warner, he struggled in Arizona and was behind Leinert. All of a sudden he gets the starting nod when Leinert stumbles and Warner resurrected his career at 36. Same thing could happen here.

To me, Jake seems like one of those MLB pitchers who all of a sudden is throwing balls over everything to the backstop, and just cant even come close to throwing a strike. The sad part is that I think that its in his head now....and that is a scary thing.
