I am so damn sick of this franchise holding strong with their philosophy of "finding a diamond in the rough." All that gets you is a game-managing QB. Tom Brady is the excpetion, not the rule. What a joke this FO is right now...

I mean really...drafting a DE when he isn't even a "need" and giving up a first rounder for it? I think we all like Brown but trading away a first rounder when your QB sucks it up in a huge playoff game. That just doesn't make sense to me. The great GMs would NEVER do that with our QB situation.

There's a certain school of thought that trickery or deception isn't all that useful. The idea is that you should just be able to line up, have your guys properly execute their assignments and win more often than not.

I buy into this idea if, and only if, your guys are head and shoulders better than the guys the opponents.

In the NFL, that's hardly ever true. And because of that, reliance on this philosophy can lead to problems.

Found it interesting though typical that Dayton (pr rep was there) Also found it interesting and got the feeling the topics were discussed during breaks. Ill give it to pack, normally he runs his lips while no ones in the studio and clams up when people are in the studio. I believe he asked the questions, but was disappointed he didnt press more.

Peppers. He intended to keep peppers or so he says. Interesting thing is when asked about pats and seymour, hurney says well they got something for him (meaning first round pick). This to me was a sign no one was interested in obtaining pep. Also interesting that they both made offers. Panthers and the agent for a brief period after the franchise offer was signed by peppers. Stated they just couldnt come to terms. Used that as back up that he believes peps statements about not wanting to be here really arent true. Be it entering contract talks again (after tag was signed) and the way peppers acts as well as his interactions with the team. Was disappointed he was not pressed and asked much about peps future in carolina past this season.

Brown. Stated pep no affect on the brown draft. Stated that they wanted to improve pass rush which was so bad last year even with pep on team. Stated they had brown as a first round pick which he believes many other teams have. Stated brown is not judgable to date too way game went in week one.

Other drafts. Stated if stewart was availible at 13 he was there man regradless. Stated flacco and someone else, exscapes me was not a target. Stated Otah was a target going into the draft.

Backup qb. Guys I maybe reading this wrong but I swear he has no confidence in Moore. When asked if delhomme continues do you make a move to someone like moore. He basically first mentioned well thats why we had or were high on mccown, but hes hurt now. This moved into was garcia ever a factor as well as vick. Which turned into "a qb that fits there system". State Vick was never a factor. Stated Garcia was never a factor and doesnt believe he fits there system. Stated Feely was first on there list. Believed he was first on phillys list as well and Feely made the decision to come here based on likelyhood of starting. Stated he believes philly's qb of future is kolb based on phillys thoughts. Stated vick doesnt not fit our system even at 1.6m in this year. When pushed about the future I got the feeling as he was asked and stalled, hes looking to the draft for a qb. Believes free agency will be limited with an uncapped year. Pressed on grooming a qb and his statements were odd. Something along the lines of '.......stale well it all hinges on how you feel about moore and cantwell'. Interesting to me his stumbles around moore. Did say he won 2 of 3 for us, but it sure as heck sounded like he was not impressed and actually worried if they would be in such a situation. In a round about way mentioned feely would be number two eventitually. Mentioned he had only been here for three days. Arm strength and game time as factors to why he was signed.

Wish this was pressed moorre. Esp drafting a qb, although i got the feeling it was on the top of his list as there was never a mention of Moore or Cantwell are the future just that depends on how you feel about them. odd

delbong. Harped on delhommes contract being stated in the media was not correct. Said 'o the fans mention 20m...........' stated he does not find it his spot to mention contracts of players believes that is there right. Also didnt find it good to talk about it now but not mention back when first and subsqently reported. Stated an article by the rock hill herald from a month and a half ago was the best report he had seen. Pressed by pack if it was over or under 20 after being pressed if 20m was correct (he replied no) he again mentioned its there in rock hill herald. Me included as I have never thought him was a good player, I can assure you fans that wish for someone else to step in at qb its not going to happen. Pressed about comming back home at 0-3 do you make the change, he deflected to barring injury, actually something like what happened to Mcnabb that jake is there guy. Startmattmoore, so sorry; not really.

Calls were weak. It was clear they were screened.

Caller about TEs. Hurney we have three that offer something in there own right. Barn outside wr type, ros inside moving rec threat, king well rounded. Mentioned running three and two te sets in eagles game.

Caller on delhommes mechanics. Decent call clearly didnt want him on and was cut. Funny he stated when guys at his feet, first two ints no one around, throws off back foot. Do we not have a qb coach that can mention this t delhomme. Hurney was round about we have but a qb is a qb. Something along the lines of cant teach an old dog new tricks.

Caller on formations and offense is so basic and telegraphs plays was a great informed call. I must admit hurney dodge it very well behind scored such and such points last year, doing something right. Caller mentioned he noticed everytime except on where rb is 1.5 yards deeper we run, one exception was a play action pass. Pressed on basic same ole formations for awhile. Why not wrinkles. Hurney stated Davidson is a great offensive cordinator and reverted back to last year.

Coaching changes. Interesting his approach at why so many changes after a 12-4 season. Said they all left for there own reason..........Did say they were all out of contract and round about stated they were all offered new contracts. Believes sunsari (sp) moved to be assistant head coach. Mentioned turd being a dl coach in minny. Again mentioned you would have to ask each of them as they all believe it was individual reasons for each. Really wish h would have been pressed on if he thought it had anything to do with their ZOD. Mentioned meeks was a great cordinator. Did not enter into other hires. Interesting or hopeful, in my mind atleast was hurneys multiple definitive statements at the team is going to be much more aggresive upfield defense. Pressed by pack blitzing more and harped on we are going to be a much more upfield aggressive defense. Acted as though he was impressed with what he saw from defense. Mentioned peppers and davis's game, but mentioned more than once cant base thoughts on this game. Down by multiple points before even taking the field. Completely overlooking early play imo, as a unit.
