Remmers

Time to become a solid backup or let him go...

Cost us the Hawks playoff game last year, Atlanta Game, and was absolutely horrifying yesterday. If you have some decent speed you will beat Remmers.

Also, CJ needs to be cut. Easy balled out and I feel as if CJ had much more playing time.

What say you Huddle?

He didn't cost us the game alone, but he was definitely a weak link. If we want to compete with elite defenses, we have to shore up RT with a high level player. Good thing we have FA and the draft coming up. I have faith in Gettleman to find someone good, and faith in Remmers to be either elevate his game to keep his spot(I don't think this is likely due to his ceiling) or be a good team mate and provide quality depth.

CJ needs to take a paycut and back up Ealy.  Allen doesn't seem to have it any more either.  I'm hoping we can draft a good pass rushing DE in the draft or get one on FA because I think our other DE's are better at spot minutes than they would be starters.

We definitely need to upgrade RT too.

We've got a lot of room for improvement and that sounds silly to say when we went 15-1 during the regular season and trounced the Seahawks and Cardinals.  Denver just had our number and played a great game, but if we can shore up our deficiencies we have a great chance of repeating as NFC champs.

I have a feeling it's Williams vs Remmers for the staring RT position, and they will add another (possibly highly drafted) tackle to compete for the LT spot behind Oher.  Honestly if they just drafted offensive linemen and defensive line I would not complain.

    • Yeah, I was about to say I hope he's doing okay health-wise because he's not looking good in that pic.
    • Honestly, I dont  think he should be on the hot seat yet. A bad start to next year, then yes. Despite our mistakes on play calling this past season, we played better than anticipated overall. Bryce showed improvement and maturity (although still not nowhere close to our expectations). Better record and 2-15 to 5-12 to 8-9. Despite what we feel the stats dont lie we are improving by 3 wins a year. Could 11-6 be our expectation. That's a high bar but at the rate we are going, thats what its looking like. We all want to see a 5-12 to a 13-4 record but we are methodically moving up. Success doesnt happen overnight (well in most cases).  IMO we are struggling mostly on the defensive end. LB and edge are our biggest weakness. I see Bryce making improvements (even though I was a Bryce hater) next year. Biggest concern is LT on offense. How to fix this? We need a big name edge or to trade up and get a big name edge or LB and pick up one in FA and draft one. Also if in the 3rd we can pick up a TE. Dont know if Sanders is the answer or Tremble (even though I love Trembles blocking and power after the catch). If these two can get their footwork together they would be great. Maybe all they need is a better TE coach. And if Brooks can stay healthy and be the back we thought he could be, man that would be great
