It was a great play, but a better catch than throw. The TE boxes out Moehrig for position. Jumps to catch the ball. Catches it and turns 180 degrees while he's still in the air. Comes down and toe taps to stay in bounds and lunges for the goal post. That first part where he boxes out Moehrig for the ball is huge. If he doesn't do that and simply fades back to catch the ball (this is why Bryce doesn't trust XL), then Moehrig likely undercuts the pass for a break up or INT. Stafford trusts his receivers to make plays for him. Here I slowed it down so you can see it. Great play but amazing catch and score by the TE. You also have the option to punt and tag him the next season if he doesn't get any field time. For some context, Rashawn Slater also suffered a patellar tendon tear prior to the 2025 season. So we might get an advanced look at that recovery to an extent. I do think an OT SHOULD have been in the early draft plans even prior to Ikey's injury. Moton's situation alone should have made that a priority. -
