It is safe to say after Cam's interview and hearing that locker room that I think 2016 will be a good year.

Yep!  I'm pretty sure we can have some lofty aspiration for the 2016 Season...I am so excited for next season!

The video of Cam's full comments at his locker on "garbage bag day" is posted at BBR.  It's apparently unprecedented that Cam talked to media today.  Several beat writers commented that he never has before.

After this SB outcome, will the 2016 Carolina Panthers strive to become an even more aggressive version of 2015's team?  Something capable of dealing w/super D's like Denver's.

Something more akin to the way the Patriots used to decimate their opponents in the second half by showing no mercy, keeping the pedal to the metal?

Bottom Line:  Will the 2016 Panthers be talented enough to eliminate the second half rope-a-dope routine that gives hope to all our opponents that no matter how far behind they may be there is still a chance to win?

Today is my last day of Panthers football bingeing for a few weeks. Busy season of work starting now.....  so I'm maximizing Panthers stuff today while I can.  Rewatching Ron's video since I couldn't clearly see it all live.

I'm REALLY struck by a segment about 3/4ths of the way to the end (beginning around 17 minutes) where Ron talks about Kony Ealy and how he balled out, and his development as a player.  How he's got a stubborn streak - a lot like Josh Norman - and how challenging that is to coach.  It's just amazing to hear Ron's insight into his guys and which of the coaches was able to gain Kony's trust, and what it meant to have Jared Allen join the team....  Wow.  I could listen to this all day.  Ron knows his players as men, not just in terms of physical abilities and Xs and Os.  He recognizes how different players need different approaches, and how you can't just demand respect and trust as a coach.  You have to earn it.  This is truly just great stuff.  Really worth a listen.

In a discussion of whether Ron had heard anything about players planning to retire, notably Peanut or Jared Allen, Ron said "I have a bit of a sense of what Jared's thinking, I'll let him talk to you about that"

-  Sounds to me like an announcement that Jared might retire could be forthcoming?

Re: Peanut, Ron said "no, we haven't talked at all.  I know he's rehabbing right now..."

Final comment about Ron's presser:

I really loved how he closed it with thanking the media guys & gals for their professionalism and their endurance over a long season.

Ron is such a truly great guy.  Love how he just oozes respect and a desire to honor everyone.  I'm sure his family's military background shapes a lot of that.  But gee this man is CLASS.  100%

There's somewhat less substance in G'man's presser this year than I remember in year's past....

perhaps that's due to something of a slight "super bowl hangover" effect - i.e. a bit of distraction!  It could also be to the fact that there was so much success, a much better cap situation, and fewer gaping holes to fill, so perhaps less needing to be said in terms of any new focus or prioriies...

One good quotable:  In talking about Cam's tremendous success this season, Gettleman reminds us "the biggest thing was getting the offensive line right" so that Cam could stand in there and throw with confidence.

That bodes well that Gettleman will not ignore the need to continue to upgrade the Oline....
