Mayocks first rankings

Oh yeah, I was just throwing it out there. I watched some of Lawson's games and he looked a little slow off the snap, but a lot of people seem to like him so I'd still be cool with it. I know jack poo about scouting players so I'll trust Gettleman wherever he goes.

Still a fan of mayock, even though for the first time I strongly disagreed with him on a few last year. It's very easy to make mistakes when dealing with the draft of young men.

The nurmber of 3-4 and 4-3 DL guys is causing big issues, which is magnified given its the strongest position group. So many, just so many that I wouldn't to shocked to see starting level players last til the fifth round.

Really not sure why they don't sort by 4-3 and 3-4 projected DL.

I wouldn't be upset if the pick is Derrick Henderson from Alabama. Center of the oline will only be better next year and we are a running team.

I know we need help at de but I think g-man will bring in a free agent then draft one but I don't see him reaching for the 5th and 6th best de when he can get one of the top RB's. Super Bowl trends happen every year it's gonna be heavy on defense cause everyone will try to boost their defense in a draft flooded in talent which might push some good offensive talent down to us which might be to good to pass on.

at this point it's great to look up guys and say I want this guy and that one. It's crazy how the rankings get shuffled so much after the combine, there will be 6 guys in the latest 1st round mock that will be 2nd rounders and one or two 3rd rounders come draft time.

Whatever happens I trust g-man to make the right call even if it's another double dip.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
