LOL what a terrible offer.  Why did we even sign Hawes if he's so bad?

Al coming back, for how long?  I say 3 games.

Of course it was a terrible offer. Dwight is a rental, and we hold all the leverage.

We got Hawes in the deal to get rid of Lance Stephenson. He's actually been a nice addition, filling the McBob role offensively.

Folks don't want expirings and he's one of the few non-expirings we'd like to part with.

Rockets are looking for 2 firsts and a young star for Howard.

Hahahahahaha, no one makes that trade. So basically they asked for MKG or Batum plus two firsts.

Wow, Rockets GM is delusional as hell.

If I was going to give that up it would be for Jahlil Okafor and even then I wouldn't offer that much.

LOL, Cho is working his magic.  As with all negotiations, one side starts by demanding too much, the other starts by offering way too little, with the hopes of meeting somewhere in between.  Hopefully, Morey isn't too arrogant of an asshole to get that.

I honestly think we are the frontrunners either way.  The Clifford-Ewing-Howard connection is there.  And yesterday, Russillo, one of the few talking heads i respect, not only advocated the Dwight to CHA deal, but he also brought up another interesting connection while naming off assets we have...  Morey was a Celtics' front office guy when they drafted Big Al.  So, there is another reason the deal looks more enticing than with any of the other teams pursuing him.  Both sides have familiarity with the incoming pieces.

So, yeah...  i think both us and the Rockets are starting out on the extreme and working our way in to a compromise, and if it happens, it will be closer to the deadline.  Obviously, Al is a given, Hawes makes a ton of sense because locked-in-current-contract guys are more valuable than expirings due to the incoming cap increase, then I'm thinking we're gonna have to either give up a young player plus a first, OR two firsts.

Per Frank Isola: we offered Big Al and Hawes and the Rocket turned that down.. I would have too.. Even with a 1st rounder thrown on top- that would be terrible for them.

Honestly doubt that's the actual offer. Charlotte is always closed lip and never leaks deals or offers until they are usually done.

And if the rockets leaked it then it makes no sense. What incentive would it give them to leak what Charlotte offered if the offer is poo. That just goes to the basement with the rest of the probably bad offers they received.

So I'm guessing this guy doesn't have a clue.

Unless Houston doesn't want to be stuck with Howard's 23 mill player option next season I have no idea how you guys can possibly put together a package for Howard, and I think Howard's garbage.

Batum is nice but if you're trading for someone like Howard you're definitely keeping Batum.

Good luck

Hawes, Al and next year's unprotected first should get the deal done, but Howard would have to sign an extension or at least excersize his option for next year before we would do that I assume.  I doubt Houston gets a better offer than that and with Howard allegedly wanting to come here I see no issue with him at least staying one more season.

    • We dont know how anyone feels about going forward with bryce, nobody has asked anyone the question.  We do know through actions that there is no fuging way Canales overly trusts him behind center.  I dont know after 30+ games how the hell you couldnt have a concrete opinion by now. Ellis was all over fnz and twitter today screaming about "letting it play out".  What the fug is 5 games going to show you after all we have seen?  Everyone but a few on here rightly, thought he had turned the proverbial corner last year.  It was clearly smoke and mirrors.   He could win out and they still have to bring in competition, you simply cannot risk it again him being dogshit to start the year and then when he levels out its the classic sub 200 games. I half assed looked for the quote from whatever writer (maybe it was on a podcast) about how after the atl game running it back was a real possibility with Dalton and bryce.  There is simply no way that could possibly happen.  No way.  Thats some playground poo.
