Two guys named Chris in morning...then Man up in the afternoon. Wished Dedre James was back ,way better than that stupid blonde chick.  Too many comercials on Rock 92.

yeah she's annoying

sometimes i just can't take chris kelly though.  i imagine he's the type that would hold up the line at harris teeter and demand to see the manager because his expired buy one get one free coupon for toilet cleaner was declined.

Once Punk, New Wave and Metal came along, there was a phasing.  I think from the mid/late 70s to early 80s was the phasing out of what I would consider classic rock.

From another perspective, I can see people viewing classic rock as classics from the past but that's not how I personally define it.  it's more of a late 60s through late 70s/sporadic 80s thing.

Seeing how the first station in the country to call themselves a "classic rock" station did so in 1983, I'm not sure how you consider anything after that as "classic rock."

So almost everything from Tom Petty is not classic rock

there are subject matter and subgenre related filters too.  classic rock radio tends to stick to blues-based hard rock bands and will occasionally play some progressive stuff by bands like rush, yes, ELP, and the like.  you might hear one of like four talking heads songs too but that's about the most "out there" a lot of stations will get.

you're not going to hear "california uber alles" or "wasted" on classic rock radio even though the dead kennedys and black flag were under the rock umbrella, from the right time period, and massively influential.

I guess that what I miss about free radio. Ain't got no heart now. You gotta pay for the deep cuts b-sides...

Why I've been an XM/Sirius listener for about 15 years now.

Deep Tracks is a great channel. I've heard music on that channel I have not heard in literally decades.

All this stuff on the Classic Rock station just means we folks of a certain age need to find a Geezer Rock station now.

Speaking of. Steely Dan is in Charlotte July 2. A Sat. Up for tailgating with some of fellow Danners?
