Game 7

there is a better chance of dave gettleman completing a marathon than charlotte winning game 7..we had our chance to close it last night and everyone besides Kemba choked

also, why would a key to winning be giving deng open looks when he has been on fire this entire series?!?

I see this going one of two ways:

Pessimistic View: We have a hangover effect from Game 6 and come out flat. Miami is hot again and starts hitting their shots. We try to compete but can never pull it close.

Optimistic View: We come out determined and locked in after lousy showing in Game 6. We realize that we played poorly, minus Kemba, and still came close. This gives us hope that we can close the series out if we can get more out of guys like a Lin or Marvin.

I wish I had a better feeling about this.  I can't help but think back to 2001 when we had the series won at home in game 6, gave that game away, and got bounced in game 7 on the road.

I know this isn't that team of course, but I wonder where the mentality of these guys is.  The announcers during game six said it best, that Charlotte would need to bring everything they had to win that game, and couldn't rely on the home court/crowd just carrying them to the win.

Now backs are against the wall, and maybe our inexperienced team will thrive off of that.  Either way, it's the biggest game the Hornets have played in 14 years, so I'll try to enjoy the moment regardless.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
