SI.com's Chris Benoit explains our CB situation

Discussing our 2nd pay picks.

Can two rookie corners equal one Josh Norman? Well, actually, yeah – sort of. Obviously, it doesn’t work that way. But the point: Carolina’s scheme puts very little burden on its cornerbacks. Not only is it zone-based and extremely well-constructed when blitzes are called, but with heady, rangy linebackers Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis, the zone windows that DB’s are asked to defend naturally shrink. Bradberry is said to be a “developmental guy.” In this system, a guy’s development can take place on the field, it doesn’t have to be from the safety of the bench. Worley does not have highly regarded speed. But in this system, with those smaller zone windows and natural help-coverage principles, that’s not the end of the world. This, by the way, explains why GM Dave Gettleman felt he needn’t break the bank for Norman.

Umm how about how the pass rush is going to be much better (nearly 2013 level) and even with Josh leaving this is the youngest group of DBs Rivera has had, and it has more potential than any previous.. and by the way literally all of them are known for ballhawking.

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
