This is one of the most disappointing thing I have noticed about our team. Remember a few years back when Jenkins and Peppers were jaw jacking about how our D-line was better than Tampa's? Or remember our first season when Del Rio was our DC? During those years our defense would come out and dominate....They would knock you down, spank your ass, and kick your dog as they walked away. Back then John Fox was a hungry HC that took over this team and said he wasn't taking any crap from players that don't perform. Back then we won some and lost some but at least we could see the emotion and heart in the way we played.

I remember when Fox/Del Rio was riding Deon Grants ass all week long and he responded by coming out in the Minnesota game and had 3 or 4 picks (that was in the Randy ratio days).

Somewhere along the way.....Coach Fox has become complacent and lost his edge. Our defense is supposed to beat you up - instead we find ourselves getting pummeled on Sunday. Our team looks about as inspired as a wet wash cloth and there is good old Coach Foxy, standing on the sideline, chewing his gum, and clapping his hands like a wind up monkey.

Coaches burn out IMO. Fox Picked a great staff of coaches back then and they made him look good.... Henning,Del Rio, and Scott O'brian were all great coachs in there own right. Now we have a watered down staff and look like crap. Its all in who you pick IMO. You have to have good coaches to have a good team. While I still feel Davidson is a good young coach the rest just dont make me smile.

Wait a minute! You mean that Ron Meeks is not any better than Mike Trgovac? Get the hell out of here! But the practice squad guy said in the paper that the new scheme was a million times better. You mean to tell me that Ron Meeks is a puppet too just like Mike Trgovac was since the defense is exactly the same? Who called that one? I dont remember...

MASTER! MASTER!

Master of puppets are pulling your strings!

Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams.....

Fox IS a good coach. His philosophy, however, does not work anymore. Meeks seems like he is going to be a clone of John as well. I see no fire from them, no aggression. If they can't convey that in their philosophy, it'll show in their game plan and in the players actions. Fox will not change his philosophy. For all we know, JR loves the philosophy and if we have a next coach soon, he may go the same route. But I think this entire organization needs a new outlook, new energy, and a new direction. If we don't get that, we'll continue to be the average team we are.

    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix has only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
    • The Canes physically dominated 2 of the top 16 teams in the league this calendar month. If you truly believe Florida is just that much more physical than us, then what does that say about the rest of the league? Why didn't they go 82-0 this year, if they are orders of magnitude better than every other team?
