If Remmers starts the season at right tackle, he'll finish it there. Changes like what you are suggesting don't hapeen in mid season, especially to the oline, unless injury forces a change.

Nope. Not happening unless there is an injury. Williams looked absolutely awful. Not sure what the obsession around here with him is. He's done absolutely nothing since we drafted him.

Remmers has been solid. Not sure why that pill is so hard for some of you to swallow.

Get over it.

Folks live in a fantasy land that Williams will be the Trai Turner of RT.

I'm pulling for Williams too, and he really did look pretty good when you take away that one play Thursday night, but it's not like Remmers has been starting for 10 years. He's still a young guy himself and he's still learning. There is nothing bad about him winning the starting job, IMO.

Why is it so hard for people to believe that Remmers has improved since last year?

I'm curious why so many people believe that Williams is even ready, and an upgrade - when the coaching staff has said the opposite,  repeatedly.

It seems like it's really difficult for people to understand that in the real world, players develop.

Some folks seems to think that who you are right now (or who you were in the last game they watched) is who you're always going to be. In football, that's just not true. A lot of guys who may not look like much in their first year or two suddenly look fantastic in year three. And this doesn't just apply to rookies. Guys who have been around for a little while can still get better. It happens all the time.

In Madden, you can just cut and replace guys who blow a single play to your heart's content. In the real world, it takes time to truly evaluate how good a player really is.

Some people need to lengthen their attention spans.

Agreed.

I like Daryl Williams, and his potential. I also love the fact, that the coaching staff is grooming him to take over at left tackle when Oher retires.

With Oher and Remmers in place, there is no need to rush the development of Williams. Would it be nice if he was ready now? I wished all rookies developed after 1 season, but that is the exception - not the norm.
