If we are drafting like 9th or 10th and Fournette is available, do you really see the Panthers picking anyone else over him? Who?

While I agree, I think there are a couple of guys in the convo.  Jamal Adams, Derek Barnett are the two I think will be available in our range. Still lots of time between now and the draft with several workouts (Bowls, combine, pro-day, etc.) and maybe the Panthers value someone like Dalvin Cook more because of his receiving and pass pro abilities.

If we remove Garrett from the talk, my top 3 guys are Adams, Fournette and Barnett and John Ross as an alternate option 3B.  I wouldn't be opposed to going defense in the 1st and then package some picks to move back into the end of the first and select D'Onta Foreman at RB. That comp pick from Josh Norman should help us move around this year.

If we could come out with Adams or Barnett and Foreman and then fill in the OL in the latter rounds, I'm happy.

Royce Freeman just announced he is staying at Oregon.

Stacked RB class, plus his stocked has been tanking as the season went on (poor season and was even benched at one point this season for bad attitude)  Smart move by him.

If we bypass RB in the first 2 rounds, I would love Jamaal Williams in Carolina. I do agree with your assessment and comparison to David Johnson, but I think Williams is not the pass catcher coming out that DJ was.  That being said, I'd still love his running style here in Carolina.  If he puts up a good combine, I'd take him at the top of the 3rd, though he could rise with a good combine & pro day.

Another guy I want if we're talking 3rd round and beyond is Matt Dayes.  Dude is a great runner with serious vision, breaks tackles and is a beast as a receiver. Would LOOOOOOOOVE Dayes in a Panthers uniform.

Nah he does not have that elite pass catching skill like DJ, but he could develop into a serviceable check down back without a doubt.  I think he will ball at the Senior Bowl and at the combine/pro day and boost his stock tremendously.

Haven't learned about Dayes yet I will look him up and write up a profile on him just like Williams.

    • well, players dictating things only works if you have the right collection of players to dictate things.  and in all honesty, not sure if we can answer if we do or don't as fans given......there are no Thomas Davis types around that we know are actually about X and Y (based on years showing it).  Collective team is too new to us to know what these dudes are really about in terms of players carrying the burden of culture.
    • Moore can be put in one of the vet spots on IR. No one will be checking for him at the start of the season. But I would be very perturbed if we tried to go all Gettlemagic and stash an obvious talent like Horn on practice squad like we did Butker. If we can get through this year, next year it will be obvious Moore and AT will be gone, starting namely with AT's contract.
    • Culture change comes from the top down, not from drafting a 3 and no D guard. I doubt Lamelo is gonna take his cues from this 20yr old kid lol. If Brandon Miller couldn’t change the culture with how good he is and how much he hustles on both ends, Kon Knueppel sure as hell ain’t changing it. Ace Bailey by all accounts is also a great teammate and hard worker, btw, who was drafted by a team he supposedly didn’t want to go to yet he immediately bought in. And he’s got actual length and tools on both ends of the floor. I feel this pick is going to age like milk rather quickly.
