is that why many black people see disrespect in every single issue no matter how ridiculous?  because they are comfortable?

i think what you are seeing is white people getting tired of being labeled racially insensitive or all out bigots every time a black feels disrespected.

Because a lot of white are racially insensitive. It's very evident in this thread. Black folks are tired of being tired, that's what you're witnessing.

So you actually have no clue and are just making an assumption. Do you know members of Team Cam personally? I'd bet you don't.

Also, it's pretty insulting that you think Cam and his handlers have zero say in any of this and just blindly goes along with anything a "rich white man" tells him to do. Cam doesn't have to do a damn thing unless he wants to. His star is way too big for that.

I do know people close to Cam. I mentioned this during baby gate. This is not the work of the people around him. I'm betting my bank account on that. Cam and his "handlers" didnt have a say in Frank Lutz, I'm positive of that. If they wanted to neutralize the talks and Cam's team was on board, the person would've been more relatable to Cam. Im also willing to bet that the reason he went along with it is because it came from the big man. If this was the work of Cam's team and he didn't like it, he would've axed it. Keep looking through rose colored lenses. It was all good until the white media couldn't handle it and Jerry had to do something. Your opinion is yours, mine is mine. Fact is fact. None of this was the work of Cameron's people.

cam.  race trading, house...

you saying you have all this in-the-know info on who hired who and what not is basically saying cam is allowing himself to be trained just so he can keep collecting a paycheck.  implying here that if cam spoke his true feelings the reigning league mvp would be blackballed from the team.  that is some fantasy land stuff.  especially seeing how kaep still has a job and he's nearly worthless from a football standpoint.

i think what really happened is somebody hired a guy to help cam when it comes to speaking to media.  that is pretty much the status quo for any high profile, celebrity type.  especially one like cam who has shown a certain awkwardness when it comes to speaking to the media.  and before you get uncomfortable and parse that as racist i'll point out that if you don't think he is awkward with the media you are not paying attention.

I dont think cam is weird with the media, when I think of weird I think of Julius Peppers, remember Peppers? I dont think Cam likes to talk to the media, he just wants to play football and go on about his business but its required. I remember him complaining about the constant press conferences he had during SB week, which I remember it prompted an user on here to say what if Jerry Richardson chose to have his team skip the media week and just take on the fines. Cam words always gets twisted by the media and people. Every time he speaks on anything other than football, people have the harshest and most opinion of it. It's crazy. There's not one football player in the league I can say that happens to other than Cam and it's based of stuff that happened YEARS ago. We talking about college incidents and stuff that Cam did and said in his 1st 2 years

I give props to Cam dealing with it, but also he does a lot for his community and kids who dont judge and love him for him, so thats what probably keep him going. If it was me, I'll tell everyone to kiss my ass if you don't like it. It's like you have to have this don't mess with me persona so people expect that of you, so it's like they're used to it and don't have much to say about it

I said I know people close to him. I never said I had all this inside info about that situation. I don't get involved nor try to probe for information on his business dealings. I do not see these people on a regular either. But the bottom line is, this is not the work of Team Cam. They would not have gone to someone who can't relate or even begin to understand how he feels on the matter to help him navigate and answer the questions so that they do not come a season long distraction. Nobody wants to blame the organization though. Plan backfired, things fail, we deal and move on. He's a grown man and can make his own decisions but let's be honest, Cam "took one for the team."  That's all I'm saying.

I don't think he's awkward with the media, he just doesn't like it. No amount of training from either side will fix that. He will go full Marshawn Lynch in a year or two.

The one guy on the site who actually does have inside information says nobody is controlling what Cam says.

You vaguely "know people close to him" and make up theories without any actual inside knowledge.

Whom should I believe?

Trust me, Cam and his people did not pick this man. Trust me. You don't even have to have inside information to know that. White people Dont like to hear it. But that's fine. Believe who you want. Somebody IS controlling the situation and it's not Cameron Newton.

i don't think cam's "weird" either.  at least not in the sense that he is different from a lot of people.  he just does interviews, etc a lot of times like he is searching for his words.  that is pretty normal.  a lot of people aren't that great at speaking to an audience or putting their thoughts into words when the spotlight is on.  especially when it comes to athletes and polarizing topics such as race.  these guy's words are going to get misconstrued a lot of the time.  i don't know anything about what PR guy has been brought in or anything like that, but i think it is a good idea for any public figure to get "coaching" on how to do interviews, do public speaking, etc.  not just cam.  all the players should, but cam is the biggest name in the room so of course he demands the lion's share of the attention.  and i don't blame cam if he doesn't want to put his neck out there.  with the way social media is these days every comment is being picked apart and before you know it what was actually said or meant is something totally different than what is being reported on.  that's why cam's actions in the community should be how he is truly judged.

even if "team cam" didn't pick the panthers PR guy what exactly would be wrong with having a guy come on that might have a different POV?  are you implying a white guy can't possibly be of any help in this situation?  if so, why?

i've never thought being surrounded by "yes" men was good for anybody when it comes to being successful...at least not long-term.

No, I don't think a white man can help a black man deal with race talk, especially a republican GOP advisor. Why? 9 times out of 10, they do not have any common ground. His POV shouldn't have been the issue. If they were going to bring someone in, it should've been to simply help him answer without answering. He should've been "allowed" to keep his same views but being shown how to neutrally express them. That's all. Trust me, I love all people and I pray daily for peace and unity so I understand his message. But it very bothersome when have a whole race of people seeing what's happening and another pretending like its not.

Also, I agree with you on being surrounded by yes men. That is never good and he's not surrounded by a bunch of yes men. He's pretty grounded given his age and his success. There's people around him who aren't afraid to and will check him.

:-)
