Any DE or OT picked at 30 would be an upgrade on our two main positions of weaknesses right now. Or maybe even use free agency. Didn't agree with the pick, not saying he won't be anything in the future but in my eyes was a wasted pick on a position that was more than good enough.

So draft a OT just for the hell of it? Why take a player you don't believe in just to fill a need. Hurney needed DT's in 2011 and drafted McClain and Fua, why not draft the best players on your board.

No it has to be an educated pick! You can argue we don't draft for need but we did this year with the dbs! A defensive tackle was not needed. Can I give you a name of a guy? Probably not ogbah or whoever aren't lighting it up but it was a position of need in my eyes, so not drafting for need and pick bpa was bs that went out of the window this year in our draft room.

You can't make blanket statements about a DE or OT if one isn't there to pick. What is ogbah doing right now? Where is this mystery OT that would have beat out Oher/Remmers, if he was there i'm sure gettleman would have looked into picking him. Vernon made perfect sense, KK is a free agent next year and he reportedly was at the top of the panther's draft board.

I can respect that you came with the facts. It comes down to the fact that Gettleman had his choice of players and he believe Vernon was the best pick.

ifedi would be a complete wash in terms of immediate impact as he hasn't even played in a game yet

as for spriggs i don't know off the top of my head if he's starting or how many snaps he's getting but the vikings did have 5 sacks and 8 QB hits last week on the packers
