Learned something new about the NFL today

Players with big egos DESERVE brain damage and the brain damage will continue until they get their egos "under control".

Here I always thought the NFL, with their millions of dollars of "programs" about player safety, was supposed to discourage that.

But I didn't know about the Big Ego Exception.

I found that pretty interesting.  I never knew.

If egos earn you brain damage, then Gettleman should line up under center next week.

You do understand the NFL doesn't allow intentional shots to the head with the crown of the helmet against runners either?

Right?

Which "NFL" do you watch where that is allowed?

Or are you another member of "he was dumb ergo he deserves brain damage" crowd?

It was allowed in Denver in the first game of the season.

This dood doesn't think a 6' tall NFL player could give a 6'5 NFL player a concussion...what else is there to discuss lol

This dood is the one that has made it clear that the defender launched his helmet intentionally into Cam's and GAVE him the concussion.

YOU are the "dood" making excuses about the whisper of a loving touch of the defender accidentally barely touching Cam's head, not me.

I am with the hot dogs. Cam was definitely being cute walking it in. The hit did not look dirty, just someone going 100% through the play like your taught. Cam could have avoided the hit by running strong in the end zone.

It is unfortunate Cam may have a concussion. He has to learn or he is going to get himself killed taking unnecessary shots.

He was not walking in.  That was a full speed collision.  It's not the unnecessary shots Cam take that are the problem it's the unfair shots that hes given.  He crossed the line took a hard but legal hit and had the frame of mind to stay up and reach for the line a second time.  Y'all should call for him to be traded to the Browns.  They'll appreciate him for who he is.

Cam did take a nasty shot to the head but he was trying to walk it in. Blameless hit, sucks but that one can't be blamed on Anybody

Agreed and him doing stuff like that doesn't help his case against the refs in trying to officiate him correctly. Hard to say that but it's the truth.

People get concussions from a whisper of a touch of a glance of an earhole on another players helmet?

Who knew?

You're confused as per usual but once again...show me this whisper touch glance of an ear hole I said?

I've maintained that Cam got tore up not that he was barely hit...

News Flash: People get concussions on legal hits
News Flash: People tear their knees up on legal hits
News Flash: People get INJURED on legal hits all the time in NFL

Your bias is so clear we know you're not a Panthers fan anyway. It actually hurts more when you go full irrational and say that legal hits are illegal because he gets screwed over on illegal hits and gets 0 calls.

You can't be taken seriously holding the position that legal hits on Cam are egregious because he gets fuged over and doesn't get treated like the other QBs. He's a football player and only those who have never played would have this inane idea that people won't be coming for him because of what he does. Panther fans like it and love it and our enemies hate it and you'd hate it too the other way around...the things we said we wanted done to Vick are similar.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
