Are we missing veteran locker room leadership?

I have to agree with this. The secondary is sorely missing Uncle Rome and Peanut. I almost guarantee you their absences are part of the reason for the numerous communication breakdowns in the secondary as well as the perceived lack of energy on the defensive side of the ball.

i am not on the field so my opinion is worthless, but ron doesn't feel like much of a leader right now to me.

Do we miss the combined leadership and experience from those 3 players? No doubt, no reason to dismiss it.  Although they weren't captains, their input, feedback and attitude carried a lot of weight.

Can/will other guys step up? Yes

Losing talent and experience is part of the cycle for any industry. Guys need to find their roles and step up.

Cam is broken...spiritually..the guy is not the same..has not been the same since?the Denver game..it was like losing the Superbowl 2xs...Gano should have made that field goal..the spirit of the team is broke..only guy that has any is Luke and Benji, Turner and Olsen at times gets lost......Davis and Cam are physically and mentally drained..Not to mention the offensive line on both ends are garbage defense and offense..How can you win with that tell me..Ron is lost as.... Shula does not know what to do with the talent he has..Season is gone Tampa going eat us up

IMHO....  Our offense under Shula will always be predictable and lack any resemblence of a well run offense...

I don't think he's broken spiritually. I think mentally he's wearing down and clearly frustrated. Thomas may be physically and mentally drained. Luke will get there. It's only so much riding on the backs of key players you can do. But it comes down to coaching. Ron is not looking like a leader right now. Hell, they don't even look or act like they trust a word he says.  The team is just not the same. They need to spark each other.

Yes. If they truly have a family atmosphere the leaders need to step up, hold everyone accountable including themselves, and play for each other to win. This team has lost its mojo. There's no other way to put it. It's not on the coaches or the front office to get it back. As a team they need to work harder and be tougher and it starts with the leadership.

Yea, when you take the fighters out the pasture all you have is passive players ..this is what we have except for a few Cam, Davis, Luke, Turner,Benji. With Josh, peanut, Harper gone there are no enforcers no true grit..Short is not having the affect he had last yr. Cam is struggling..and I know he is tired of hearing it.Media fans coaches.How can you enforce your will when you are playing lost and already defeated. Power football is what they want to play but it's not there.
