All Cam needs to tell him: Don't want me to retire early due to injury? Give me a break. Apply the rules.

The money speaks for itself.

That's a good idea but I don't think Goodell would call that bluff, though it would be risky for him to even though it'd be an obvious bluff. Could you imagine the 27 year old NFL MVP retiring early due to concussion concerns and the bad press that'd bring the league? But everyone knows Cam would never do that. He's said over and over that he won't change his game despite the concussion or other injuries and that he just does what he has to to win.

Not a threat of immediate retirement. He could point out something serious will happen if people don't stop the low hits in particular, for instance. He could imply early reitrement, but not outright say it.

Explains a lot, doesn't it?

Rivera and the team complain. The league says "oh yes, we understand and we'll take care of it" and we believe them, but then they don't.

It's a kind of conversation that occurs between men and women rather frequently.

I believe that Rivera, and Gman, have had contact with the League Office. I believe the LO has, up til this point, given the Panthers answers they were good with. I also believe that Cam has talked with our FO about this, and has, up til this point, toed the company line.

Here's my question. What did the LO tell the Panthers that made them capitulate? "We will look into it", then "We are working on it", and finally "We have no clue".

My point in this is that IF YOU TRULY BELIEVE THAT THE PANTHERS HAVE NOT HAD CAMS BACK DURING ALL THIS. Shame on you.

Our offensive line needs to go Albert Haynesworth stomping on niggas if anyone even thinks about touching Cam as well

Our offensive linemen gets pentalized for jumping up and down.  I'm sure Stomping on a guy would go over real well.

If they honestly think something is going to change while Goodell is at the helm, you are just getting your hopes up.

Goodell is just talking out his azzz.  He will meet with Cam and pretty much go like this.  Quit crying shut your pipe in the media or you will start getting fined.

only reason he's going to talk with Cam and came out and said this.  Is the the big national media attention this has drawn.  Just a PR stunt for the NFL

Some one higher up should have said something for cam.  He is again in a huge no win situation.

I hate it for him.

Rivera has been speaking with Goodell since the beginning of the season. he didn't feel the need to say that to the media, and he didn't need to unless a resolution comes. the subject just keeps coming up as cam continues to take bad hits.

Would be interesting to know who all attends this pow wow between Cam and Gordell. Man, I'd love to somehow be a fly on the wall for that meeting.

All I know is that Gordell is going to be impressed by Cam. Cam just has it. When he is passionate, you can feel it. As long as he tells it like he sees it, he should be gold. The only time I see Cam uncomfortable is when he is being reigned in. In public, he can make you shoot your own foot off. In PCs, he is stiff and measured.

Passionate Cam can get Gordell's attention. Now whether any answers can come of it? I mean, Cam can leave that meeting with a renewed sense of confidence. That OK, the NFL is behind this. I can look forward to getting a call. But the first time he gets short changed?

It is past time for full time refs, and maybe even add 1 more. Instead of 1 at LB depth, we need one more. Those crossing route picks need to be addressed as well.

I mean, in today's NFL, you get a group that can cross the field and run defenders off. You have an Offense that can move the chains. Once you get into the Red Zone? That is where the tires hit the road.

I'd say tl/dr version; But hellz, you guys/gals know that doesn't mean much. Brady has made the NFL change their rules multiple times. We always said Cam was a transitional player. Maybe this is the first time Cam makes the NFL change its rules. Or at least enforce them.

You'll see the outcome of it on Sunday. Not sure how they'll handle this but if Ron has been communicating with Godell las he said, then Roger no choice to but to at least half ass do something. I do think something should've been said publicly by this organization before Sunday.

I hope something changes. I'm not worried about the media and "fans" opinions. Cam is a father and his health is important. If he has to be labeled as a cry baby, so be it. He has three children to think about. I'm surprised it took him this long.

Now see, this is where things get confused. Rivera, and by extension, the Panthers have communicated with the League office on multiple occasions. So folks need to let go of that " Well the team should have said something" narrative. We are not the type of franchise that will air our dirty laundry in public. They HAVE stood behind Cam. They just did it behind the closed doors.

On this subject, I don't think it matters what the "Average" fan thinks. This is not one of those arguments. This is a , you have a wuss for a QB, he gets hit, and its 15 yards. We have an Adonis as a QB, and because the hits LOOK different. Does NOT mean they are. Call all those penalties the same.

Listen. We Panther fans are not the only ones to see this. The refs of every game see things differently. But when Cam gets under-cut? How is he supposed to act? I mean, that is a penalty? Is it not?

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
