Funchess vs. Collins

And Collins, a guy with a whopping 5 pass breakups and 1 int (today) thus far in his young career, is the one that KB beat for his TD. What's the point?

Collins has contributed more to this team than Funchess has, also secondary players get beat all the time. Funchess is a lesser talented version of KB that doesn't provide any unique skill set to the team.

Ya know, Olsen isn't getting any younger, and Funch was a TE in college (right?). Couldn't we try molding him back into a TE to backup and maybe replace Olsen in 3 or 4 years?

haha tell me this was a joke, he can't even out muscle Collins he would get eaten up as a TE, KB has better body mold for a TE. I got a better idea why not just draft an actual TE.

Why waste a draft pick when Olsen can play another 3 years at a high level? Throw Funch in the weight room. I really (want) to like the guy.

Jalen Collins:

23 games played (7 starts), around 30 tackles, 5 PBUs, 1 int.

Devin Funchess:

34 games played incl. playoffs (15 starts), 55 catches for 900 yards and 10 TDs.

'Contributed more'... Nope. Funchess isn't perfect but your argument is very flawed.

Collins was being called a bust all last season and for a good chunk of this.

Let's leave reason out of threads like this.

Reasons like this is 2nd year & he didn't play until week 4 after serving a suspension. Took over for Trufant & hasn't looked back.

    • I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC.  Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy:    Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying
    • I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British.  For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games.  Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.
    • Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations.   Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama.   Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.
