Has a NFL team ever been first in sacks, last in pass defense?

Josh Norman, Charles Tillman, Roman Harper, Jared Allen, Kurt Coleman (at FS) and Dwan Edwards were greatly missed in 2016. Their voids loomed large over the team on and off the field. Those players accounted for 40% of the defense in 2015, and the players responsible for filling their shoes came up short by a large margin.

agreed!

Yea but Bradberry ain't shadowing nobody, wonder why

Josh Norman didn't always shadow WRs either. Bradberry's a rookie too.

When he does shadow big time receivers like Julio, he creates stats like 1/3 passes caught for 5 yards by Julio against Bradberry.

Then again people like you expect rookies to be all-pros their first season.

This stat really is amazingly pathetic.

We were such a collective dumpster fire defensively to start the year that it buried us.

Zero pass rush through the first 1/3 of the season coupled with an inexperienced secondary, and 1000 yards passing allowed against ATL and NO alone.

Most painful season I have ever watched.

I'm seriously convinced all the good players were trying to make up for the bad secondary and that's why they weren't allowed to do the best at their job as soon as The bye week came it seem like the defense woke up I don't know what happened at the beginning of the year but there was just a lot of mess going on

I do.

Not as painful.

We knew we were going to suck.

This year? The crushing blow of wasting talent and falling short of expectations. To me that hurts the most.

I understand that, but having high hopes for Clausen after the draft as our potential franchise QB turned out to be a huge let down. It became apparent that season that Clausen was a bust. It led to us drafting Cam at least, but at the time I felt hopeless we would ever contend for an NFC South title for years.
