Do you know a team that runs the football plays good D and works hard for their coach

I do.... they are known as the San Francisco 49ers and after many years of mediocrity they have finally broken out. They are coached by one of the best defensive players to ever play the game who came in and dismantled any prima donas on the team (see the Vernon Davis of two years ago and this years version). A team that runs the ball, plays physical D and wins out the grinders so far. A team that is doing all this without their top 10 pick this year because of not buckling in and handing this immature baby money that he is not slated for. A team that will only get better next year with a two first rounders (one of them being a top 10 pick) next year.

either way I am thoroughly impressed with the 49ers

I am too, but I temper that feeling a little bit.

If you don't get results, the "intense, in-your-face" act can have a short shelf-life. You can only give so many Knute Rockne speeches before the players eventually start thinking "I've seen this movie already."

For every Bill Cowher, there's a Ray Rhodes. At this point, Singletary could still turn out to be either one. I'm leaning positive, but the other is still possible.

Looking at the clip, on first glance it seems Singletary didn't put enough guys back into coverage to protect against the Hail Mary. Coaches normally have a boatload of guys back to knock the pass down. I saw only two in the vicinity of the receiver.

Will have to see the clip again to be sure, but if it's so Singletary and his DC need to take some blame for this loss.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
