Here's a thought.

Man, it really is kinda weird how certain things have transpired around here. If you look at us from the outside, you see a team in almost constant disarray. A team that, since Polian left, has been searching for a leader. Whereas, if you look a little deeper, you see a team...in search of an identity.

IMO, JR HAS a clear picture of what he wants this team to be. But...for whatever reason. Things just have never worked out. He has been close, oh so close. But he has yet to see his dream become a reality.

To me, Gman is the best thing to happen to this Organization since Polian. Us fans have clamored for a "Football Guy" to run our team for over a decade. Well, we have him. Pray, let us give him a few years to make his bones. (And maybe the camaraderie between him and Ron will actually pay dividends.)

Take a second and actually believe that we can do things to be better next year. We have money to spend. After almost 4 years, that has to be a foreign concept to Gman. It has to be exhilarating to think of the possibilities? What if...Gman gets us a solid Vet SS? What if...Gman gets us a solid Vet DE? What if...for once Gman fills our roster with Vet FAs that are actually good? Would that up the ante on the draft for you? I mean, C'mon man. We only need a couple of solid Vets, and we can go to war. Throw in the draft? Man!!!!! How can you not be excited for that?

I mean, think like Gman. He has waited his whole life for this. He has scrimped and saved for this. Now...this is here. He has to be...well...excited as all get out over this. I mean, come on. Who wouldn't be?

I have to believe that the vast majority of frustration in the fan base is caused by unmet expectations. No one foresaw this year happening. Most of us saw at least the Playoffs in our  future. Even after we lost Josh. We all knew we were on a roll, and then bammmm. This season happened. So think like this. We had a bad year. So what. Most bad teams would kill to be in our situation. Great core, and lots of money. Just like the Raiders a few years ago. Only better.

Or this? Maybe, just maybe, Gman has been saving that money for a reason. And this Off-Season, is that reason. I mean, C'mon man. If Gman wants to go crazy. This is the Off-Season for him to do so. It is just giddy inducing to think of the possibilities. Why the poo not? We can sign our own, and still have money to shop at...I don't know. Somewhere better than Target. Sheesh. I don't have all the answers.

At this point I feel it necessary to dampen the enthusiasm a touch, because I just know some of you will be opposed to such drastic thinking. No...I am sorry, but I cannot address that pesky LT position. Not yet anyway. We are counting on the core of Williams, Turner, Kalil, Norwell, and Him, leading the way. If someone can over-take Him. then so be it. But...for the short term, He is still our LT. So, let us all pray for Oher to return to duty.

Happy New Year my Huddle Brethren.  I hope the New Year finds you safe and cozy. And always, always #KeepPounding.

tl/dr version; It ain't that long, read it you lazy biscuit. The best way to fight ignorance, is to read. Fear is caused by a lack of knowledge. Reading is knowledge. The more you read. The more you know.

Oh, and, ah hellz. GOOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After posting this. I do have to admit. It is rather lengthy. If you read it all. Thank you. If you read any of it, thank you. If you read none of it, fug you.

Gman is a fat fug.

He'll draft his hogmollies again. Sign a bunch of scrubs off the street at low ball prices. And, let our core players (cough cough, KK Short) go like Josh Norman.

He'll sell that to us and we all will actually be stupid enough to believe him that it's some good ideas/moves.

JR is a cheap and greedy old guy now. Still trying to get every dime he can while he lives. He has no heart anymore. He used to care about this team. He has changed so much.

Dang, you are way more pessimistic than even me. It actually wouldn't surprise me if Short is shown the door; he's gonna want a LOT of money. If it does happen we better damn well shore up the other glaring holes in our defense and O-line.

Whole lotta hate in there? Based on a whole lotta speculation. And then try and lump the rest of us in with it?

I actually thought you were being sarcastic there. Until you state, " He has no heart anymore. He used to care about this team. He has changed so much."

You do  realize that JR has had heart surgery? Because if you do... And you do realize JR was a Pro Athlete? And at Football too. He also built an empire out of a Play Off check. Tell him to his face he doesn't care any more. I double dog dare you.

Please take this crude rhetoric with you as you exit stage left.

How about? Seems to me, signing Short is a priority. Hope the team feels the same. And if it doesn't. I hope we can fill the hole his absence will bring. That Gman. He has flashed so far. Let's hope that trend continues.

We have money. We have good draft position. Praise Bubba. This can be one whale of an offseason.

How about this? Make a list. Do your own Pros, and Cons. No, seriously. Be honest, and list what you see are good things, and those you see as bad. If, when you are done. You still feel iffy about our future, and Gman, more power to you. IMO, I see a team that looks miles better than it did 3 short years ago. With a future that has a possibility of being something special.

Perspective. It's a nasty slope.

2017 was always the year in DGs mind. 2015 was a perfect storm of everything, sort of the opposite of 2016...and it has spoiled some of us, noticeably the Madden generation. Takes time to fix a team irl.

Heading to bed, and see you have responded. I think to myself, what a wonderful way to end the day. Any you did not disappoint. I love Colbert. Fills the whole of missing Stewart bearable.

I am of the belief that Gman, and Ron truly thought that this team could compete. Even after losing Josh. That we could hold the fort down one more year. Then this year would be the year we could go after it again. We would have money, our core would be one more year closer. It all looked good sitting by the dock of the bay.

Then this year happened. All those plans that looked so good. All of a sudden didn't look so good.

We still have a poo ton of money. We still have a great core. And we have great draft position. Bingo, Bango, Bongo, Bob's yer uncle, and let's get at em'.

Man, the next 4 months are going to be something.

Tell me, do you think JR makes more or less money when his team is winning?

It's Carolina Chuck, back after what, his...third ban?

I wouldn't expect much.

    • I knew he was hedging for a raise.
    • I definitely respect your opinion more than Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, and Carmelo Anthony (whom I just watched on their show, all saying NOBODY wants to get the Hornets in the post-season). You win.
    • For all the good feelings about Bryce Young, when you read between the lines, it's what DC says and doesn't say that makes us know that Bryce hasn't necessarily been the supercomputer that they thought he would be. This season, Bryce has to make a tangible progression on the field. "A big part of it is being able to operate at the line of scrimmage — not in the huddle — when we want to, and he’s certainly capable of that," Canales said about Young. "It’s not solely on him. It’s a group that’s pretty young. You have to trust all the guys to go up there, communicate verbally or nonverbally and execute what we’re doing. We’ve made huge strides in that regard. His ability to alter things based on what they’re giving you will give us another edge, which he’s continued to grow and had some great examples down the stretch where he identified things they were doing, got us to the right check and capitalized on some plays. Want to see him do that more when it’s appropriate. We don’t need to be changing things just to change it." The implications, perhaps insinuations, are pretty evident. Bryce is just going to have to do better. "And then for Bryce, it’s the identification of early on the cues that the defense are giving us, to be able to eliminate parts of your progression before the ball’s even snapped. That happens with time. I’ve seen quarterbacks really own and master, which allows them to play lightning fast." Obviously Bryce isn't necessarily picking things up as fast as Canales would like, and I can only assume that Canales is making comparisons to Russell Wilson, Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield. But, of course, not everyone picks things up at the same rate. Bryce's pace has left Canales wanting for more. During the coming season, I don't believe that it will be good enough for Bryce to start putting things together in December, evidence of the light switch being on is going to have to show itself in September. Basically, it's really the moment that we've all been waiting for, the one that we thought should've happened earlier, the one that brings Bryce's accountability in the spotlight. On an off note, perhaps to that end, we should consider the possible implications upon the draft, but that's another story. Basically, it's time for Bryce to sh¡t or get off the pot. https://roundtable.io/sports/nfl/panthers/news/carolina-panthers-dave-canales-holds-nothing-back-on-bryce-young-in-new-interview
