Cam and Luke aren't enough.  That's all I'm saying.

The Pats get away with it bec all the All-Pro's who haven't gotten a ring yet know they have a good shot of getting one with them.  The Pats are the exception to the rule, I don't know of any other teams that get away with it.

That's because it works.  Their record speaks to that fact.  Those teams that throw money at one position rarely are ever consistently competitive.   You have to spread the limited money around to be competitive.   The Panthers are just now getting some jack to spread around.  So let's take a deep breath and see how it's spent.

I hope you're right, but I have my doubts that DG is willing to open that purse up unless you're an absolute freak of nature which there aren't many of.

He really doesn't have a choice to be honest.  Now will it appease the fans?  I doubt it.   He will continue you fill holes with stop gaps and draft BPA until he gets his core set. Last season was just a mess all the way around and is not his MO.

The only mistake I think he made was waiting on Josh to sign the tag.  If I were him I would have gone ahead and signed a vet CB as soon a FA opened because he wasn't going to sign Josh long term anyway.  He let Josh play him and he missed a chance to get a solid fill in until the rooks caught on.

We damn well better pay the man after that ridiculous drama from last offseason. If DG lets 2 homegrown defensive MVP candidates in their prime walk in 2 consectuve offseasons, he needs to be run out of town with pitchforks and torches.

I agree with you.  But he did sign Boykin and he had Benewikere, who at that point was a vet.  Those guys, for whatever reason, just were not ready.

2?  Hell I didn't even know he let 1 defensive MVP candidate go let alone 2.

Boykin IMO was a shot at upgrading the slot CB spot and Bene was going to fill in for Tillman's departure.   But that's just my 2 cents.

You do it when you are worth less than the tag amount. When you are worth more per year than tag amount Like Short is then you don't sign it immediately. Prime example would be Kirk Cousins and Trumaine Johnson last year. Both couldn't have gotten a yearly average greater than the tag amount so they signed right away.

KK signing the tag right away would be a really stupid decision and something his agent should never allow him to do. The tag is like $13-14M and he could easily get $16-17M on the open market.

KK isn't worth that for 6 sacks a season Butler can give us 6. Also KK like Norman is a player who although ending his first contract will be 28 years old at the start of his 5th season....

For a DT that relies on quickness I don't think he will have the same level ability for the duration of a lte.

According to some on here it's easy.  Just pay everybody whatever they want and cap be damned.

Well part of the job is being able negotiate. Given the reputation he's developed, agents aren't going to be willing to work with him as much. That's his fault.

KK is good but he ain't 15-17 mil a year for 5 or 6 years good.  He wouldn't earn half of that at his age and level of play.

No, he wouldn't put up with Josh's agents BS.  That has nothing to do with negotiations with other agents.  1 situation out of dozens does not make a trend.

My point exactly he isn't a consistent double digit sack DT like a donald or Atkins.... he's a 4-7 sack guy and that's simply not worth it... Butler can replace that let it walk spend big on Berry and JPP or D Jackson....
