Situational pass rushers need not apply

From Jourdan Rodrigue

He added that the style of receiver popular at this year’s Senior Bowl – speedy, small-to-midsize slot guys who can also move outside – fits with “what (the Panthers) are trying to do.” He has also been looking at a loaded tight end position

as well as edge rushers – the latter of which needs to be a “complete” rusher, he said, instead of a situational player.

Vic Beasley does ok and he is around 240

-Falcons offense is one of the  reason he is successful,  They take early  leads and make you play from behind allowing their pass rushers to pin their ears down and go.

- I only see 3 complete DEs in this draft with Allen more suited to play DT for Panthers.

Barnett

He may be smaller than Garrett, but Barnett was a better force against the run. If for no other reason, maintaining lane integrity where Garrett just went wide most of the time for sacks. Barnett could go inside, outside, bull rush, or hand teqnique slap to beat offensive lineman all while team just decided to run away from him.

Deashon Hall looks like the closest to complete at the Senior Bowl (6053, 265 lbs, 34 5/8" arms, 9 1/2" hands).  Below is how a couple of our every down (or at least early down) ends measured up pre draft.  2 PFAs, 3 Draft Picks and a FA.

Wes Horton 6'5" 264 34 1/4 9
Arthur Miley 6'6" 263 34 3/4 9 1/4
Greg Hardy 6'4" 281 34    9 3/8
Frank Alexander 6'4" 270 35    9 3/4
Kony Ealy 6'4" 273 34 1/4 9 1/2
LaVar Edwards 6'4" 277 35 1/2 10

Tanoh Kpassagnon was the only other DE at the Senior bowl with similar measurements (6067, 280 lbs, 34 7/8" arms, 10 7/8" hands)
