Summer 2017 Transfer Season

Real prepared to offer a world record bid for Mbappe and sweeten the deal by allowing Monaco to keep him on loan for a year. This per AS, one of the most reliable Spanish papers when it comes to transfers. Should be an interesting summer indeed, with likely departures of Morata and James, and arrivals of Vallejo, Llorente, Theo, and maybe Mbappe (sort of). Anything they do on top of that, would probably be overkill. Though I guess you could say they might need to bring in another attacker at least for a season that is content being rotational. Someone to fill Morata's role for a season. Then in 2018-19, you're probably seeing Benz shift to the rotational role, with Mbappe taking his place (assuming RM gets their guy).

If Bale ends up leaving (not likely now), I would love to see Madrid go after another young Superstar in the making before another big club scoops him up, Ousmane Dembele. I'm not sure if they would with Asensio already in the fold, but he would be electric in Spain. My last completely unrealistic dream is to sell Casemiro (his ball retention and distribution concerns me), and replace him with Julian Weigl. Weigl's injury makes this even more unlikely, but the kid is Busquets like in his performance as a holding midfielder. Would be another great signing to preserve the future of the club.

Mbappe said Madrid has been trying to buy him every year for 4 years now.  Not sure it will make any sense to buy someone for £110M and loan them.  Too much risk...  Real Madrid net spend over the last few years is only like £45M...  They buy big and sale big.  IF they buy Mbappe, they will sale few players.

It makes sense for 3-4 clubs in the world. Especially in a World Cup year where Mbappe wants consistent minutes. Real Madrid is one of those clubs. I don't really see it as a risk at all tbh. When you watch Mbappe (especially his movement without the ball), you can quickly see why he's almost certainly going to be a very special player. Buying him and then making sure he continues to get playing time before you can incorporate him into the squad is actually pretty intelligent for a teenager of his caliber. The only thing that makes people say "risk" is the number you'll have to pay, but Madrid will easily fund the transfer with the sale of two players that want to go.

El Sharawy was projected to be a special player as well.  One serious injury and done.

You can never account for injuries. It would be foolish to pass on a potential generational player because he may or may not get injured some day. Loaning him out doesn't somehow increase the likelihood of injuries.

Should be interesting.  Not sure he's ready for Madrid and that crazy fan base any time soon.

Lacazette to Arsenal is getting hot.  Lyon president is in London to negotiate the deal.  Lacazette scored 92 goals in 3 seasons.

PSG and Bayern pulled out from Alexis chase.  It looks like he might end up staying at Arsenal.

- So far Utd. are still only toting Lindelof as their only signing to a reported 35M£ over 4 years.

- Adnan Januzaj is drawing interest from the likes of Sociedad and Celtic. Januzaj is back at Utd. with one year remaining on his contract after being loaned to Sunderland last year. Mou has a choice to make regarding Januzaj.

- With CR7 reportedly wanting out of Madrid after the tax evasion claims, of course Utd. is mentioned as a possible suitor. I don't see it happening though. It is reported that Madrid would only sell if a team doubled the transfer record for Ronaldo.

- Utd. are showing interest in Spurs midfielder and English international Eric Dier. It's reported that Mou believes Dier could be a long term replacement for Carrick in the middle. However, the Spurs have slapped a 50M£ price tag on Dier; more than Utd. are willing to pay.

- Man U are still trying to work out a deal for Morata as Morata's agent met with Madrid this past week. However, Madrid still isn't budging off that €90M price tag; a few Utd. is not willing to pay.

- Utd. are still in contact with Inter about Perisic. Like other clubs, Inter will not lower their asking price of €55M. Utd. have not caved and if they do it could spell the end for Martial as Utd. would be heavy down the left side.

Mbappe stated he wants to come Madrid this summer. It was only a matter of time.

Donnarumma is considering Madrid as well.

It's all falling into place.

Yep, Madrid will have a fire sale if they buy Mbappe.

ESPN reporting Zidane and Ramos recently met with Ronaldo to try and persuade him to stay at The Bernabeu.

The report goes on to say that while Zidane will remain in contact with CR7, he will not hold him against his will.

The general assumption is that Ronaldo prefers a move back to Old Trafford, but as it stands right now Utd. are not set to pursue this option unless CR7 makes his intentions known. Utd. are not willing to get involved in a deal that may never materialize per reports. We likely won't hear anything more about this until the Confederations Cup is over.

The transfer would be further complicated by Man U's interest in Morata and Madrid's interest in De Gea.

However, the assumption is that if means acquiring Ronaldo, Utd. are ready to move on from DeGea in what reports are saying could be a £175M to £200M deal.

Doubt...  Ronaldo is going to be 33 soon.  No way he cost that much.  He got maybe 1-2 good years left and that's it. Nonsense.
