Do you mean how many times Cam is holding onto the ball too long and forcing longer throws into coverage as opposed to hitting the open man on shorter routes?

I meant just how often is there a short option in the passing game. People are always complaining that every route is down field and I'm wondering how often that is actually true opposed to simply Cam not throwing the short option.

Similarly, how often does Cam have a 3,5,7 step drop? How does this compare? I guess shotgun and read-option plays skew this. Maybe a better question or metric would be looking at the time from snap to Cam's release as compared to other QBs.

I've got some time in the next couple weeks where I'm going to be doing some film review on NFL Gamepass of Panthers players, schemes and to a lesser degree outside free agents I would like us to target or think we could target. Some specific things I'm already planning to look at include:

-Shula's running scheme in 2013 to now

-Tolbert's involvement as a blocker

-Free agent FBs, particularly run blocking and pass protection

-Funchess and Brown (are they getting open when not targeted but Cam doesn't see them or the protection doesn't give him time to look past KB/Olsen/Ginn as earlier reads in the play call? I'm not so convinced WRs are that big of an issue on offense and I think looking closely at what goes on with these two will give me a lot more info to work with regarding the position outlook.

So my question is is there anything you folks would like me to look at specifically? It'll be tough to look at our secondary without understanding the zones called on any particular play but I can look at DL, OL, TEs, ST, etc. Throw some ideas at me so I can think about and plan out what I will look at and I'll start posting my results as they come in.

2 TE set please ! How we use it and how other teams uses it effectively

    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
    • 1.) LaMelo 2.) Kon 3.} Miller 4.. Giannis 5.) Moose   1.) Coby 2.) ? 3.) Sion 4.) Miles Bridges 5.) Kalk That squad would win multiple chips.
