Has everyone finally calmed down?

Couple of good days

Picked up a young LT who will work extremely hard with his brother on the team

Got what was essentially the equivalent of an early 5th round pick for Kony Ealy who might have been heading towards being cut

Picked up a beast on special teams who is also a speedy guy not married to the sideline nor scared of contact

Picked up a vet safety, which we sorely missed last season

Picked up a vet DE for fairly cheap.  Both starting DE's are good teammates and will teach whomever we draft the ropes.

Complainers cannot see the forest for the trees

Funny what having a little cap room will do for a GM

LOL, Seriously, was only trying to point out that there is room for debate on what we've done so far. You guys have changed my mind on the moves we've made and my whole outlook!

A couple of posters here, I call them the "cry babies", won't be satisfied unless we sign two or more flashy skill position players each offseason.  They are typically offense fanboys, love drafting running backs high, and the only plays on defense they like are sacks and interceptions.  Their only real life football experience comes from playing Madden.  Ask them about D-line gap techniques or the difference between man and zone blocking and they'll just shake their head, but they'll get mad and ask in game threads why the team isn't passing 90% of the time.  Suffice it to say if a signing the team made isn't someone they recognize from fantasy football, they won't feel satisfied.

    • That was intended to be plural. Games(3 games he played in 2004). Yeah, I think objectively CJ is still the better QB but I also no longer have a rosy view of his career. I don't know that he is going to ascend any further than his rookie year and he may descend quite far if his confidence is shattered. I am not in the CJ vs. Bryce camp like most of you all are. I don't want either of them. Especially in the context of potentially getting a mega deal. I could be wrong about both or either in the end but my bet now is that entire 2023 first round QB class just doesn't have any upper tier QB's.
    • I think DJ will always catch some heat because he will never be an elite WR, despite having elite attributes. I remember that when he was here. We all saw Steve Smith play for years, so we know what a truly elite WR looks like. DJ was never that. Now, is he a very, very good WR? Yes. Is he one of the best 15-20 WR's in the NFL year in and year out? I would say yes, as well. But he will always get some doubters because he is the tier below the truly elite WR's. I do agree, though. Would love to still have it. Would love to have reversed that trade immediately. Especially with the benefit of hindsight the way we have now. It's way more painful from that view.
    • No, he never threw 8 tds in a game.  I feel like we're splitting hairs and are describing the exact same situation, but you're looking through the lens of recency bias.  Either way, the original point remains the same.  CJ Stroud is still far better than Bryce Young.
